I absolutely love the fact that he cleans/ maintains his cars, houses before the new owners take possession. It's definitely an added bonus buying anything from him.
This has got to be Matt's tenth car where he bought it with the intent to keep it forever. They always get sold. Everybody breaks - it's biology.

This is what happens when you're more business minded. Matty is still working, hasn't reached his goals yet, at times he needs to free up money, free up room. We don't see what's going on behind the scenes. He's thinking several moves ahead of what we get to see. Always a reason for what we see as madness. Keep making moves Matty, were here watch and celebrate in your success.
My moves are over I'm 50, retired, and keep my cars. Love to see the passion, enthusiasm, and energy of those still working, having fun, and succeeding in life

The new owner is a lucky guy getting a car in such perfect condition, I'm in my 40s and have bought probably 30 plus cars over the years and only ever 1 or 2 have been up to my standard, people that are so particular like you and me are few and far between.
I've always said the same in that someone who buys a car from me has absolutely nothing to do other than keep it up to standard, which I'm sure most don't. Hence why I would never want one of my old cars back, even if I did regret selling it.

Someone once said , “the enjoyment is in the chasing not the having “. As I’ve said once before “ I will never miss something I can go and get right back “. With so many car collectors out there finding an clean example is easy these days more adults buying and flipping instead of kids so the examples are much cleaner and less abused .
I definitely understand your statement that you are not really attached to the object it's more about the chase and then setting the next goal. I'm looking forward to the 997 hunt! Best of luck keep being you Matt!

I like the way you roll Matt…it’s classy to hand a car over in the manner you’d like to receive it. Just sold a beautifully decked out Q8 (OCD perfect paint/interior), I’d already received the money as well….still did a detail (which it didn’t need😂) before it was loaded into the transporter, even went out and bought seat, steering wheel and shifter covers…..just wanted the new owner to know I gave a sh&t that it was perfect for them…..like you, I wish I could buy a car off me!

A key take away from the video I noticed was the financial and economic speculation. Selling at a high and then briefly mentioning a recession. I’ve been holding on all fronts, cars, housing. Interesting to see Matt touch on that topic.
Just sold my Carrera T, going to miss it - but as I get older I realize there will always be more and the chase for something new is sometimes better than achieving the goal.

I pity those paying ridiculous prices for vehicles that will ultimately be re-sold in the next couple years once the car market normalizes (which it will, one the chip shortage is no longer holding back car production, and dealership lots are full again). A lot of people are going to be majorly upside down. I'll keep my $ in the bank and spectate.

Sounds like a good plan. Question; Whats the difference between the short nozzle you use for the wheels and the longer tube for the rest of the car? Just for better reach?
Correct. Doing the wheels with a 20" wand doesn't work well.
Matt, maybe this is a longshot but what about a Lexus LFA maybe some day to add to the stable? That’d be sweet!

What do you think about swapping the 992 touring for a 911R once you've made all the content with the 992?
911R, 997.2 RS, and 991.1 RS would be an incredible collection. Maybe mix in a Speciale.
911R sounds the best. You can easily tell in the Hagerty video of 911’s with Jason Camissa.
Why would someone want a 911R when a 991.2 GT3 Manual touring exists. The 911R is just expensive for no reason considering they brought back manuals.

@@scuph That makes sense, but even for a collection I don't think Matt collects things just cause their rare. For example he could of bought some rare individual e92 but instead bought an Interlagos cause he likes the colour.

I’m with you about cleaning a house or car when you sell it but when I buy a car I always tell them don’t touch it; I will take care of any PDI or detailing.

Can we talk about shoes for a minute. I can’t find any of the shoes Matt wears. The green/black Metcon 6’s are no where to be found and I can’t figure out what these are. I wear Pegasus 38’s but always curious what Matt likes?!🤔
Most of the shoes I get are Nike By You, so I design them.

Maybe it was easier to let go because it was never your perfect spec. The door handles, the green stripe on the wheels, the white dials.
We need a "solution" to remove the dark edges that appear on light colored cars with PPF. Not really serious, but kind of.
What happened to the 997 RS you were getting?
I'm going to get one, but I think I'm going to sit on the sidelines for a little while.
@@ObsessedGarage hey Matt, I picked up a 2007 997.1 GT3 RS silver w orange wheels … i can’t help grabbing the keys to it ahead of my 2018 GT3 Touring w full Dundon street and intakes … the 997 is that good, alive and the single mass flywheel, steering and shifting is peak RS

Cleaning before you leave is the right thing to do but 99% of people don't do that. So now you have to clean 2x.

I seriously doubt it was built that quickly. And I JUST got my C2, avoiding that ship. Sad situation.

Wasn’t only Porsche’s on that boat Bentley Lamborghini Audi etc… you get it right it was a VW ship. This market for used cars is not sustainable. You usually want to sell at Market tops and if this isn’t the top we sure are near it. Total bubble IMO.
