LOST INTERSTATE *I-44 OKLAHOMA*

- This 4 mile Abandoned Interstate section was a totally unexpected and different type of abandonment than any I have ever been too. It was extremely surreal standing on this wide open empty section of 4 lane beauty of transportation with absolutely no traffic but with all the sounds of traffic from the nearby re-routed roadway. It was strangely fun to sit and stand on the center divider wall and look up and down at the empty pavement and wishing we had my TransAm with us on this great long wide drag strip(DANG)! The drone footage was looking good too until some strong sudden wind gust came up causing some rough flying and one crash into the trees, thankfully my wife tracked the drone and it's parts down for me.

I live in Oklahoma and literally I feel like no one does any exploring videos everyone kind of forgets about oklahoma
Keleigh Marie what part of Oklahoma is this in
I think it's in the video description, about 45 minutes outside of Tulsa I think.
Seth Cannady how tf am I supposed to know just because you live in idk New York u don’t know the whole state
@@ExploringWithCF I thought this was in catoosa!!!
Hey bud, you're driving on the wrong side of highway! We ain't in the UK lol... however, where else in America can you drive up the wrong side of the FREEWAY and not get into a head-on crash? Or at the least, get chased by cops 👮♂️...
Cool video bro...
It's not often you find a huge freeway section like this where you can go wild, it was freaking cool with just a tinge of end of the world to it.
Thank you.
@@ExploringWithCF oh I bet... kinda like "The Last of Us" or something... at least that's the feeling I get with these abandoned roads and stuff...
This is super cool! For a second I thought this was the abandoned highway by my grandparents house (I’ll give you a hint, it’s surrounded by quarries and they closed it due to sinkhole concerns ten years ago)
This one was cool Kaizer, I love stranger than normal, abandoned places.
We have that where we live
It's really cool but kinda a waste too. Would love to have it in my neighborhood
That's a drag strip in the making :-) Nice find, enjoyed the drone shots.
Thank you m8.
Most likely will become a walking and biking trail like most of these do.
Seems such a waste.
Man they should use that for drag racing
I agree 100%!
What part of Oklahoma is that located on interstate 44? I'm planning on going back to Oklahoma to visit my friend next month. What town it's near?
Now that's really cool, it's a waste but really cool. They even built a jump in the middle of it LOL
I like this one, the Drone shots really made it as well.
Now I'm going to go over and try to figure out how to share this in my video LOL
I couldn't believe they built a road right across it lol and yeah the Dukes of Hazzatd would jump it. Cards and end cards are pretty much copy and paste in the creator studio, just look for the headings(easier on the old studio).
I'm actually quite familiar with this section of I-44 in Oklahoma, this is the abandoned Will Rodgers Turnpike, sandwiched between Oklahoma State Route 66, and the current alignment of I-44, this is phenomenal.
It's a wasted dragstrip, they could do legal streetracing nights there.
@@ExploringWithCF they could but tulsa already has a drag strip for that.. midnight mayhem
I-595 in Broward County Florida was the opposite. Back in the late 1970's / early 1980's - before all of the bridges had been built, they had started the main road, so there had been bits of empty road between where the bridges would eventually be. And, of course, since then, they have doe a LOT of expansion to it! Watching and Supporting, LIKING another video!
Thanks Ray. I was told by an Explorer in California that there is a 2 mile section of expressway in the middle of the woods there due to bad surveying lol.
That's insane! I have never seen an abandoned expressway. How lonely would one feel if you got on it late at night by accident? Love the aerial footage. Thank you.
Thanks Cindy, it was strange during the day so you're right it would be freaky at night.
Better than the abandoned highways in CT. In our state, they start building highways and either (A) run out of money and never complete them or (B) don't get the correct environmental approval and are forced to stop with the highway not finished. We have a few of these blunders in our state
Amazing Find!
Thanks, it was a really different and cool as heck Explore. If you're ever that far east definitely check it out.
So glad this popped up into my recommendation, new subscriber.
Thank you Linda and welcome hopefully we can show you many more lost, hidden, and forgotten places.
Your channel is lovely !! Your editing is amazing ! I love all the footage you have!! I am new and I have your bell on hehe💖💖
Thank you so much, I appreciate you doing that. I hope we can show each other neat stuff, you started out great for me with the perfectly timed T6 video!
Catoosa???
Really enjoyed your awesome abandoned video!
Thank you
@@ExploringWithCF you're welcome!
This was different. I don't think I have ever seen anything like this before. Looks like you are picking up with the comments that is so great for you. Love to watch your videos.
Thank you, it was so strange and eerie sitting empty that way. I just hope to share my live of these places and show disabled people not to give up on their dreams. Thank you so much.
That's pretty cool looks like a great place to race 💥👍💥
That is pretty cool thanks for sharing God bless can look forward to hearing from you
Thanks man, it would be an amazing dragstrip. I have 2 of your vids on my watch list, looking forward to seeing how your projects are going.
Exploring With CF alright it's cool how do you set up a watch list?
I have two bathrooms that I'm working on a month ago or so I completed one shower and now I'm working on this one this one's more complicated.
So if you go down to my list you'll see my shower I completed cuz I do like a walkthrough.
After I get the second shower which is a Steam Shower,
I will be finishing up by, staining the cabinets putting in vessel sinks waterfall faucets sunglass and Lighting to finish up these bathrooms once I get the shower work done.
Just to give you a heads up.
If you're interested in checking out the Constitutional class or it's being taught the first class was tonight it was live the next one will be next Tuesday at 6:pm live.
Oh thank you for being a part of my community that means a lot look forward to hearing from you, keep up the good work. God bless, By4Now Ken
You can set up playlist in your creator studio, you can, find video directions on YT
My live streams are Tuesdays 5:30 to 7:30 so doubt I can make the class. As for checking it out another time it really depends on if I can garner the free time of which I'm very short of.
Deja vu lol, enjoyed watching it again mate, Its like a scene out of a apocalypse movie
Lol yeah but this time it was supposed to be posted.
dude, i'd have so much fun with this road.
Lol, its still there waiting man.
It's like The Walking Dead - be careful for zombies in the undergrowth. Have you got that clip ready for me yet?
Totally like The Walking Dead man. Clip will be done today.
Where is it?
Follow I-44 on maps North of OK City and you will see the weird dead end spots about 1-2 miles from the Hard Rock casino
@@ExploringWithCF
Thanks. I did find it later on. It's just north of where I-44 intersects with U.S. highway 412, near Catoosa.
You might think about putting that in the description, so folks who love maps can see what you're talking about for themselves.
Awesome man! Not everyday you find something like this lol drone footage was very cool!
Thank you, some crazy winds came up and the drone actually got blown all over lol.
Saw u on Scott’s live stream. I love stoned & exploring. I’m in New Orleans & spend lotta time on beach in Mississippi.
The reason why it was abandoned because the split with route 66 was dangerous and when the creek turnpike was built in 2002 the creek turnpike needs to be realigned where more people will take it now it take 20 extra minutes on the creek turnpike to get to will rogers turnpike to turner turnpike due to its turn south and dart back northwest to meet us 169 and continues west that north south section was built probably to elevate congestion on us 169 and 193 rd east ave to reach broken arrow or bixby I plan to renumber the creek turnpike Us 260 Us 269 were at memorial 260 contues west and us 169 and 269 contues south on memorial to meet us 75 to go to Texas
Sorry I left you hanging but this comment along with a huge amount of others just popped into my "not responded too" folder today!!! many are MONTHS old.
When it was abandoned I was 1 and living in Joplin Missouri 95 miles from there I am now 17 almost 18 and live in afton OK 5 miles from town
Thank you for the information, much appreciated.
It would be fun to take a scooter on that road.
awsome love drone footage
Thanks TJ, dang strong wind came out of nowhere and put the drone into a low tree lol.
love the drone footage!!!
Thanks man, keep working those lungs hard.
It was a nightmare when that was open. Traffic would be stopped to pay at the tollbooth for miles especially on Summer holidays when people would be coming back into town from the lake. This was back when you had to stop and pay the toll to an attendant. Best thing they ever did was the reroute.
Thank you so much for the first hand information, it's great to get perspectives from those in the area.
Great job...love the drone footage!!
I like to think drones were invented just for Explorers.
1320 incomming with cash days
Cool find!
Thank you Nathan
Exploring With CF your welcome. Take care and have a great weekend
You too man, what's the next song on your channel?
It's old road
Where exactly is this section of former I-44?
It is about an hour North of Oklahoma City if I remember right. You can follow I44 on Google maps and see it.
Immediately east of Catoosa, OK. Exit 241 on I-44.
@@ZenonM1183 Thanks! It's easy to find on Google maps in satellite view.
where is it by exactly?? i want to go visit my self
Go north on I-44 from OK city and it is about 1-2 miles from the Hard Rock Casino
@@ExploringWithCF thx you so much bro 🔥
I was 1 when that got abandoned in 2002
Nice place for a road race!
Hells yes!
That’s a pretty cool find
Thank you, it was such a crazy unique abandoned place. If you ever get there its worth the stop.
Nysss💎
That’s so cool. Good find.
Thank you Susan, it was crazy cool to walk around on it.
Could film street outlaws fake street racing there
Yeah then maybe that show could be real?
Hii this is such a cool find wow noice drone shots is well..wow
Thanks m8, the drone shots were tough to get, a strong wind suddenly came up while the drone was a mile from me and made it a hard flight back. The drone did crash in some trees but it was close to us lol.
Exploring With CF+lol you did a awesome job with this..so more bloopers coming
Lol totally more bloopers man, drones are great but also aggravating lol.
@@ExploringWithCF+lol I bet
Can't wait until I get to see the Urban Kiwiana drone in action.
cool video thanks !
Thank you for watching.
Cool video! 👍🌸🌼💮
Thank you Summer
that's wild
It was crazy cool to walk around on.
Awesome video bro 😁
Thanks Jesse, I cut the part where the sudden high wind gust blew my drone into a tree lol
It's in Tulsa in case anyone was wondering
That abandoned expressway looks good for racing a Lamborghini
Oh man it would be a great drag strip, I wish we had my TransAm there instead of our Durango
Replace a straight line with a curve? Makes sense
I want to drive a 4 wheeler on that abandoned highway
Lol it begs for a good daily driver drag race to me
New supporter
That would be fun to ride a bike on!!
Lol, yes it would
Okay send me an address imma race on that
Glad to see my taxes hard at work
Exactly! Seems like a crazy waste, I have been told the police use it for training once in awhile but it mostly looked like people use it as one huge long dumpsite.
Got you
I pinned your comment where you said you know some about the Constitution and how you're amazed tell little everybody else knows that's sad and very true statement 👍
Is this coming Into Tulsa on i44 ?
I believe so, it's near a casino.
When they put in the south loop turn pike...they changed the route...been down that strip of road many of times!
Great video!
It's such a waste but also very cool, at least the police use it for training. What a great dragstrip though.
yeah this is between the Cherokee turnpike and can access it on pine street in catoosa, ok. done a couple speed runs there myself lol
Where is this
Like where exactly in Oklahoma
Umm please?
I think the location of this place is in the video details, it's about 45 minutes from Tulsa I believe
Drag racing...
Would be an epic spot for it.
Tax dollars at work.
Lol too true man. Really cool but what a waste
Exploring With CF I've seen a lot of videos like this. Can't build a commercial airline like that. The State or Federal should be held accountable. I give back a fat refund check when they fail.
J. CHILLCOATAY Agreed man 100%
I wish they would tear up the pavement replant trees a return it to its natural state!
Or at least use it as a kick butt drag strip. I guess the police use it sometimes for training.
