Nap Hussars is, of course, a great project...and nice tribute to Master Gav!
Many thanks Phil, looking forward to getting them finished 👍
Hi Glen, brilliant, always blame someone else 😂, i must get over to Gavin channel. Ref horses, id go for all one colour, eg black and/or brown im thinking of the House Hold Calvary, they look fantastic - looking forward to the finish 🎉😂
Excelente muito bom 👍
Thanks very much 👍👍👍
Luv the video! Gav's gonna have a few words to say LOL. Lovely paintwork as always. Have a great weekend my friend
Thanks Steve, LOL, I think he looks very dashing as a Hussar 😃
😄😄😅
Long time no see Glen how you doing my friend. I would go for the grey horses they look more the part than the browns and blacks. Love the picture of Gav he will never live it down I'll make sure of that 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hi Greg, going well mate, how about you? I am leaning towards the greys, still haven't decided. I think he looks dashing, as befits my 28mm inspiration 😇😇😇
All the horses should be Off white or Gray Or maybe red I've seen some beautiful red horses. Good luck picking amazing build. Looking forward to your next update. God bless.
Thanks Clay, you wouldn't think it was such a hard decision, but I am struggling! will see what the consensus in the comments is, I am tempted with the all grey look though.
Nice work. I like your style and presentation! Sub'd to follow more! I did a 28mm Cavalry unit for a couple different wargames, and I went with various shades of dark browns and chestnuts. I chose the more extreme shades - (near - white and black) for my unit leaders just for the whole "standing out as different" thing, but I just ended up playing with different shades of colors and used that as practice canvases to work on color shading. Have fun with it!!
Thanks Mal, welcome to Halidonia 👍 still undecided with the horses, I’m hoping for a flash of inspiration when I get back to them 😀
Hi Glen, I just googled a bit about war horses, and I came across some pictures of black Prussian Trakehner which were absolutely stunning. And since all of my cars and most of my motorcycles I have ever owned have been black, I vote for black horses.
Hope that helps 😁 Cheers Mike
FYI, the link to Gay's channel doesn't work.
Thanks Mike, that sounds pretty good too, I do love a black car. Also, link fixed
Looks like an interesting project. My only thought on horse colour is that if you do them all the same won’t that be come the main focus as it is a large block of colour. On saying that I’m no artist and a very average modeller. Stu
Thanks Stuart, that's a great point, something I had not considered.....mmmmmm now even harder to decide 😃
Glen apart from a pipe i look like Eric Morecambe🤓 🤔 now if you look like Ernie Wise we have a nice little earner on the go 🤑 Cheers marra for the kind words . Horse colours depends how much work you want to put in but i know you like hard work so i would mix them up . Look after yourself marra . Regards Gav.
Mate, I make Ernie Wise look good 😀 Still cannot make up my mind about the horses, will see what the sum of the comments are. Cheers Glen
Hi Glen, I think that these uniforms are intricate and the detailed painting seems a bit daunting. For the horses, I might suggest that you go with a white (or light gray horse). I think that this will add to the overall impressive look of a cohesive Cavalry unit (not unlike the uniformity of the uniforms). It is my thinking that this will look good when placed all together sas a fighting unit. I would suggest that you decide on a final color for the horse then make a lighter color of it and a darker tone. With these 3 colors I think it will control the painting to look coherent. I've done horses before and all different colors can get a bit frustrating due to the mixing involved. Maybe 2 colors can suffice if you use a 'Nuln' oil product or such. Then a little lighter tones over that for a highlight. These are just some suggestions from a Non-Halidonian looking in on a Halidonian idea. Good luck my friend and I can't wait for the dio that all these guys will be placed on. This scene can be a monster look when all is assembled together. Best wishes you cheeky bastard. LOL
Thanks Michael, I am leaning towards the greys, and will definitely be doing something very similar to what you have suggested for the painting technique. You have been provisionally accepted as an honorary Halidonian mate, we are a tax haven too, just send me $50,000 to my Nigerian address and I will get the paper work sorted 😇😇👍
@@HalidonDioramas A mere pittance!! Where do I sign? LOL
