why aren't we considering the boarding time taken for each flight? Also we will have a utilization percentage for the no.of gates too which can be considered.
So there are various constraints and you can use 1constraint to solve the problem like Boarding Time/Gates or Number of runways. You would have got a similar answer with whatever constraint you have taken. See this way, there can't be 50+ Gates and 1 runway right, no airport would be built like this because in these cases, the majority of the time these gates are under-utilised. in every 3 min one flight takes off and we are calculating for the no. of planes taking off, then why you have taken take off and land together.. like assumption is just for taking off right?
What if the runways are more and we don't know We can ask interviewer ? And what if there is delay due to weather conditions ? The flight take off and landing might get delay ?
Yes you can ask those questions like number of runways etc, also the interviewer is more interested in your thinking process rather than an absolutely correct answer. Here the p95 or p99 will not change, delay is like one of edge cases.
