Just did my 7.5 GLI using this video as a guide. Most stuff was the same but the sub frame was different. Had to completely drop the sub frame to get it out. Wasnt that big of a deal, but had to pull the lower control arms (2 bolts) and the down pipe brace at the back of the sub frame. Everything seems to be good got it all back together and it's driving no issues so far. I also did mine solo in my driveway on jack stands. Took about 14 hours with a couple breaks and harbor freight runs. It's doable, but if you have a buddy to help, definitely ask.
Why is it important to line up the axles with the trans? I took all the bolts out without doing that. Wondering why before i out everything back together this weekend
Hey guys, didn't expect to have so many views or messages about this video. I don't check CZcams often. You can message me on Instagram @ghostridor if you have a question
Awesome video! Is it required to remove the subframe to remove transmission? I’m currently working on a 2014 Jetta 1.8T with the famous 09G. If I can get away with not removing the subframe, that would be awesome haha😅
@@tyharrison7619 I did not, there was more than enough room. I actually left the driver side axle attached, I was able to remove it. I bought a harbor freight transmission jack and that facilitated everything.
finally a clutch replacement vid specifically for the MK6 GLIs
Great video man. I've been thinking about doing the clutch myself on my GTI and this game me some confidence. Thank you!

How similar would this be to removing an A/T on a 14 Jetta TDI?
definitely not identical but similar for sure. I would assume you could follow the same steps and be fine.

Did you have to lower the subframe by chance ??
