@6:50 Gucci Intense Oud does smell like Black Afgano. And therer's an amazing cheapie in that exact same ballpark: Proraso Wood & Spice Cologne. For anyone baby-stepping into the land of designer ouds I'd say that's probably the absolute best-value entry level option. Proraso also has a Wood & Spice Aftershave with that exact same scent as the Cologne.

Oud Touch is a must have to me. The performance, smell, and price are just too good to pass up. It smells like Oud Ispahan if you're wondering. (I know Ash knows but I'm talking to you reader👁👁)
To my nose Oud Touch does not smell like Oud Ispahan it is very synthetic there is no oud at all.

I think Banana Republic Oud Mosaic is a closer take on Oud Ispahan. It's also higher quality fragrance.

@@dragonthingy4843 I frequently see bottles of Oud Mosaic at rack stores for around $20. Notably Burlington Coat Factory. I wasn't crapping on Oud Touch though. It's pretty good for such a low price.

Polo Supreme Oud is pretty easy to wear with the cinnamon note. Get it while you can. Another completely under-the-radar oud is Oud Suede by Art of Shaving. I love it.
Thanks for this video, I'm looking to get further into ouds myself. Since I got my hands into Molton Brown's "oud accord" line (main notes are oud and rose, of course) I've been curious for more. I'll use a few of those as a starting point. 👍
Versace Oud Noir & Boss Bottled Oud Saffron are my favorite designer ouds (opposite ends of the spectrum). Best oud I have tried though is Odyon Dubai Scorpion Intense. Beast mode turned up to 13. Even wearable in the summer heat.

I’m a Middle Easterner but hate Oud colognes, reminds me of old men during Eid (Islamic holiday).
But when I smelled LV Ombre Nomad I was blown away of how perfectly blended oud was in this fragrance! Bought a bottle full retail & never regretted it 😎
LV Ombre Nomade is the definition of a dark delish bomb.

Smelled SWY Oud yesterday and i am strongly considering picking it up. It would be my first oud fragrance. The oud is present but not overpowering. I pick up a little incense as well and find it to be a medium projecting fragrance.

Ash" is spot on with everyone of these I own em' all and did a test myself and I've gota say his discription of each is almost an exactly accurate discription of what ya get from each one ...I'd have to say I was blown away by the very muchthe Gucci intense oud is so similar to black afgano of which my nasamato I don't wear much of but very surprised

My favorites are Initio's Oud For Greatness, Ralph Lauren Supreme Oud, and thanks to you The Woods Collection Royal Knight and yes Versace Oud Noir. Favorite oud is Aoud Leather by Montale. A great, cool, dry aoud leather fragrance with just a hint of sweetness and great longevity. Surprisingly "fresh", maybe due to the coolness of the fragrance as it lacks warm resins or incense to heat it up. Doesn't get much love but it's one of my favorites.
Gucci intense oud is my only designer oud my next one on my list will probably be the stronger with you oud.
Fortunate to have Versace Oud Noir, YSL M7 Oud Absolu and Boss Bottled Oud. Looking forward to some cooler Oklahoma days so I can wear these.
Would strongly suggest checking out Oxford Ouds. They have a great range but a huge selection of Pure Oud oils also.
The Vince Camuto Oud is a slightly sweeter, warmer and much more affordable take on Oud Wood - very good for the price you can find it at discounters.
My first oud fragrance was Tom ford oud wood. I hated at first spray bcz never smelled something like that. I love it now.

Try Ajmal Mukhallat Shams. Proper, but affordable, middle eastern oud. Real beast mode fragrance. You'll only need one spray.
Be warned though, this isn't your softer western stuff that most people are familiar with. Some even suggest you should spray your clothes one day before you wear them because the far drydown is where the magic is.

Mine beginner oud fragrances were:
- ZARA "Vibrant oud" , classic heh )
- Franck Boclet "Oud" (sweet oud with a clove, very pleasant, not off-putting)
Vibrant Leather Oud does not contain Oud.
As soon as you mentioned SWY oud I slammed on the breaks with the vid and went straight to Fragrancebuy CA and scored a bottle, this one is a blind buy for me (which I rarely do) but I LOVE the SWY line and I'm also a fan of Oud so hopefully I won't be disappointed.
You love SWY line and oud, how can you be disappointed and Ash said "really really really good" so...

hi ash, i was wondering if you are willing to do a video (on Extra Gent Scents or your main channel) talking about what websites to get test sprays, 1ml - 5ml size testers. I live in an area where my Macy's has the same 40 something scents and hasnt restocked since fathers day. I really want to keep exploring but i recently spent 40ish bucks on a blind buy and was extremely disappointed. I dont want to get burned in the future and am trying to get small doses to smell the fragrance before i splurg on a full bottle. Thank you for all the great content!
I use only trusted sampler sites but samples are a great way to try lots of different ones without ending up with a bottle of something you don’t like.
Ferrari Essence Oud is a great one, more rose then oud, but still great. Hard to find now though, I'm lucky to have a full bottle.
I love that one, too. Try Swiss Arabian Nawaf. Similar to Ferrari Essence Oud but a bit drier & smokier with a very slight touch of Tom Ford Tobacco Oud.
Do you sell decants?? I would love to either get a bottle or at least a 10ml decant of original M7.

What about MFK Oud? I got a sample of it and at first thought it was fantastic but at 3am when I could still smell nothing but it then it got kinda of sickening lol. I love the oud smell but I wonder how it stacks up against the others here?

About 4, 5 hours on my skin, with ph that makes fragrances fight hard.
The bottle says M7. Why call it Oud Absolu? Oud Absolu hasn't been sold since 2016.
Maybe you've already covered this, but can you give us a few of the really dark/dank/nasty oud fragrances?
Ajmal Mukhallat Shams or for a really dark, nasty one try Ajmal Dahn Al Oudh Shams. Eastern oud & affordable, too.

Ash wouldn't touch that trash. They are AWFUL, tacky body mists & you need half a bottle to get any longevity out of them.

Am I the only one who hates Oud Noir? Versace fragrances are usually amazing but they dropped the ball on this one. Nothing like Tom Fords Oud Wood, not sure where the comparisons come from.
