Some of my most fun times as a kid was building "forts" or playhomes under a table or in a big box with all the extra blankets and sheets in the house. We'd keep them up for days, or as long as Mom could tolerate it 😊
@@brokenprincessofhell4743this is what I wanted to share also. We used old blankets and clothes pins and made our own forts/tents. That was half the fun.
So lovely to see any parents doing this! It's not about the $$ but the effort. My father never did anything like this for me or even knew details about me or cared. Your kids are so lucky to have a loving parent and I'm so happy for them to have something even simple to play with. This will mean something to them for years to come!

You took ½ the fun! When I was a kid I remember coming home from school and there was appliance boxes in the basement. Mom made us wait till dad got home to "ask" if we could have them. She added it would be a good idea to give dad an idea what we had planned. We had scaled drawings, a little mock up out of paper. He helped us attach them and cut holes for windows. They stayed around for a long time. When othe appliances got replaced there were additions added to it. Luckily our parents bought a fixer upper. Spent a lot of time fetching tools. Good times.
Very cool. We always used our parents card table. Back in the 70s, my folks had a round one. We'd roll it out of their closet and throw blankets over it. My mom would pop popcorn and make my sister and I Shirley Temples. Great memories! Your kids will definitely love it
This reminds me of my childhood. My bestie and I used to go under the long table cloth and we would build walls with books against the chair legs, and brought cushions and blankets inside. We loved to have doll time in there and used the space for either baby doll or barbie doll time. It was so much fun! This is so much cooler than our forts, and something that is reusable. Good idea dad!

Nice! I'd put something inside to have option to cover windows. I always made forts to be a hideout so no one could see me!
Good idea..he could add fabric roll up blind similar to door. Nice way to utilize a dining table that is rarely used.
I thought so too, then I realized I don't know how old his kids are. If they are very young it's probably better to be able to keep an eye on them
Exactly! I wouldn’t like that if I was a kid being so open! It’s supposed to be a hidden fort to hide uj

If the kids are under a certain age, maybe under 5 or 6, it can be dangerous to leave tape in their reach.
@@sonja_rademacherthose little pieces of tape couldn’t harm a 5-6 year old- however, not being able to see them in the fort could cause some injuries
