With the 1958 recession, it was the car for the times. The outside appearance and colors makes this one of the nicest Ramblers I have seen. The interior offers nice contrast also. This car definitely shows you want it would have been like to walk into a Rambler dealership in 1959. Back in the day when people only bought a new car once every 10 years, this car likely made someone very happy when this one was purchased for the 1st time. Hope it goes to someone who will appreciate it and take it to shows to let people know there were more that Fords and Chevys sold in the 1950s.

@@bobjones1999 Hi Bob. The front seats recline all the way down, it becomes one big bed. A selling point for the traveling salesman or road trip minded people. If you showed up in a Rambler that has that feature to pick up your date in the 60s most likely Dad wasn't letting his daughter get in that car 😄

Finally a manual trans. I had the base version in '67. Took my license test in it.

I can attest to the fact that if you take good care of that car you can get upwards of 600,000 miles on that engine .... Coming out from Chicago in 1960 with a similar car .... A station wagon .... This car is almost indestructible ....
    Guaranteed!
Ya, ya i know my father babied the car, never abused it, did his own oil change monthly, along with tune up
dwell angle adjustment .... It all paid off he had close to 400,000 miles on it when he sold it .... The next owner got another 200,000 miles on the car before we lost contact with him .... I'd like to know what the eventual total mileage was at the end 😅

Actually single digit speedometers were a typical practice back in the day, e.g,. Packard , Hudson, Nash, Willy's etc used these..the "Zeros" as redundant. And Plymouth Barracuda (67-9) ditto early Dusters..some Roadrunners(150 mph-linear style. After all, I just think its a neat idea.

I had one just like this, and, the fold down front seat made for some interesting times for an 18 year old kid. It was a great little car but, sadly the engine went, and, It got scrapped. You could buy cars like this for next to nothing in the sixties.

Not a pretty car. But, looks. As good as they get. Not a real collector’s type of automobile. But the Chrome and paint is excellent.
