I recorded this when it first aired on PBS in 2000 and wore out the VHS tape. Now over a decade since her death, but can't help but wonder the roles she would have played had she lived. So much talent lost.
I feel humbled by Natashas beauty. They say the eyes are the mirror of the soul. When she went to heaven I saw a beautiful picture on the front of a British newspaper and friends and family spoke of her character and being such a generous and loving girl. I got the feeling that she just gave and gave, that she was such a natural and loving humanbeing. Sometimes in life and more often than not there are loved ones that leave us so early but leave a huge feeling of please dont let it be so.
I watched this PBS special two years before I played Whiteside in high school; these two artists began my actor's research into the show. Thank you both (for whatever it's worth).
I wish this entire program were still up; it was wonderful! the complete play with Nathan Lane (MWCTD), and during intermissions there was Natasha with Kitty Carlisle Hart, Moss Hart’s widow. the two talked about who the Man was based on, and just great chemistry between the two women. that play was so superb and .. Nathan Lane?!
To date, each time I have seen this posting, I am convinced someone would arrive for dinner, and as a result, three times I have truly prepared a Havesham dinner for two. Since then Should the occasion occur, I have the meal in the freezer prepared as one would be on Christmas Eve, as Santa might have time to stop by, tho' for Santa, simply, mince pie, glass of milk with a carrot for the reindeer. . .childish thoughts last a lifetime.
