I really like this guy, he's so approachable, humble, and knowledgeable about Warmoth products, not to mention a fabulous guitar player. God bless you Aaron.
Had my first warmoth project done in '92 and it still gets played every single day. Big fan of this company and Aaron is a fantastic spokesperson. But yes, I also want to see the box of horrors!!
I've now bought 7 Warmoth necks. All of them have been ready to play. Nut cut proper. Frets level. Fit the neck pocket perfectly. Neck straight and responds to small truss rod adjustments. Amazing.
I just subscribed to your channel. You can never be too old to learn something lol. I've been playing for over 35 years and I'm just getting into it now, maybe it's time to make a guitar that best suits my needs from scratch. I have and owned Many Gibson Les Pauls, Fender Tele's and Strats, Epiphone, PRS, Reverend, Martin, and the list goes on. I can't really say I have a #1 and that's funny. I pick up a guitar just in my mood at the time what I want to play. It can be a baseball neck, a Fast playing radius, and it all depends on what I want at the time. I am not in the camp of what's my favorite neck as long as it's set up right. I am not here to pretend I know everything but, It takes really only a little time to get used to something and I just play away. That being said, you never really know unless you try something out. This is why I want to build something, hey, I still don't have a #1 lol.
Cool video Aaron, I didn't even know that there were so many different neck options ot choose from. As many have said below already, I'd love to see the box of horror parts too! And naturally, if you ever need to clean out any of them, please let me know :-p
I have several Warmoth necks and just never gave it a thought about that index hole..... Thanx for the information! By the way, where you address the hole being left empty on modern styled necks, dare one say "tone chamber", LOL ?
Aaron, another great video as always. Is there a video on the Tilt back Strat replacement necks? Are these built with one piece shafts or are they three piece with the scarf joint? There isn't a lot of information on the website about the build that I could find
Thanks so much for the wonderful informative videos and great products. I have assembled two guitars, one strat and one tele both with Warmoth bodies and necks. I was just watching your video, "The Warmoth Story", which talked about starting out as Boogie Bodies. I have what I am told is a Boogie Bodie tele with solid ebony neck, mahogany body with what I think is a ebony cap. There are no logos or numbers on the guitar. Is there any way to tell if this guitar is a real Boogie Body?
I wondered about that hole too. A few years back I bought a vintage modern neck with 21 frets, and the hole was just barely visible at the neck-pickguard junction. I contemplated putting a plug in it to hide, but realized that getting a match to the nitro tint would be difficult. After a spell I really forgot that it was there.
hey, the arrow neck, i don't see any info on scale length options... i tried to build a musiclander and an arrow neck and couldn't find any info on scale options...
Of all the necks I have & the future necks later, most have been & will be Modern Construction. Only one wasn't. I just figured the truss-rod was in there, lol.
I'm not sure if I can follow... I just think it's an error on the website. In the neck builder you are actually able to choose between the *9* different construction types Aaron is referring to in the video, 3 of which are the tiltback ones. If these didn't count, we would be left with 6, not 7.
You're absolutely right the hole on the heel of the neck makes no difference in the stability. It's just the same as the 4 holes that are drilled for the mount to the body.

I'm crazy humble.....way more humble than anyone else I know!
"Warmoth's Box of Horrors" would have been a great Halloween video.
Ayyy Aaron that neck doesn't look completely ruined. Give it here lol!
. . . just a 'relic', right?
You don’t want warmoth trussme

You had me at “what is this strange hole”. Insta-click.
HA HA HA!
Heck yeah!!! I Needed a new video from Warmoth!!
I've now bought 7 Warmoth necks. All of them have been ready to play. Nut cut proper. Frets level. Fit the neck pocket perfectly. Neck straight and responds to small truss rod adjustments. Amazing.
Very cool. Thanks for the explanation.
Cool info. I love the vintage-modern necks. I can't wait until my next one on order is ready! .....yes I also buy myself Xmas presents.
Those are great necks!!
You guys make great videos and guitars there at Warmoth :)

Lets see that box of horrors Aaron.
Is the 59's Telecaster neck for sale? Would love to pick that thing up! Thanks
Technical hole! I still can't choose the material and color. But now I definitely won't be surprised at anything when I receive the package.
Holes are interesting
Will you add the heart, spade, clover inlays to the inlay options any time in the future?

Tiltbacks have a one-piece shaft with the scarf joint.
OK Aaron.. now that you blew the doors open on that conspiracy, please explain where odd socks go.. or maybe crop circles.
"fender 59 telecaster neck that's been torn apart"
...can I have it?
Good Day Aaron, you should do a video on the difference of Gecko basses.
What material do u fill the hole with ? Jus curious
That vintage trussrod hole gives me nightmares. Have a dry winter and remove the neck to adjust just slightly. And back for summer.

If you send pics to sales@warmoth.com they may be able to ID it for you.
"🎵There's a hole... There's a hole... There's a hole at the bottom of the neck.🎵"
Cool.
I proudly own 5 so far and yes they completely blow the skis out of the water against any other manufacturer keep on pickin
You guys should get a purple flake finish option
We have Purple Frost metallic, which is close. Not a proper purple flake yet though.
Number ten should be vintage short scale 22.5"
I got a hole lotta questions
Send me a solid modern style fender stratocaster body with ssars p/u route American tremolo with holo flake finish
Any 24 inch necks for short scale guitars?
We make a couple different Mustang/Jaguar replacement necks.
I’ve been wondering how your necks are held for finishing when the truss rod nut is at the headstock. Mystery solved!

Not all necks are available in all scales. The Arrow neck is only available in 25.5" scale.
@@warmoth got it, thanks!
Have you been watching Trogly's, or a fan of Japanese rockers?
@@kilhattrick love that p90 swinger!
Why doesn't Warmoth make a narrow warhead? Like a T-style version of the standard warhead?
In the aircrafter world that's a "Tooling" or "Index" hole.
Got it!
Yep, and index hole. Zactly.
Of all the necks I have & the future necks later, most have been & will be Modern Construction. Only one wasn't. I just figured the truss-rod was in there, lol.
BTW the website states that the Strat replacement neck was "Available in *seven* different construction types." Not 9. 😅
Fender-type guitars are not eligible for tiltback construction, which accounts for 2 of the neck types.

Lisa, I'd like to buy your box!
Whats a tilt back?
A headstock that tilts backwards (eg Gibson), as opposed to one that is straight inline with the neck (eg Fender).
Hey! What's your favorite Scorpions album?
If I had to pick only one it would probably be Blackout, but it would nearly kill me to not be able to pick In Trance as well.
@@warmoth Those are great!
I really like Taken By Force.
Thanks man
What the Neck is this Strange Hole on Warmoth Hecks?
You're absolutely right the hole on the heel of the neck makes no difference in the stability. It's just the same as the 4 holes that are drilled for the mount to the body.
Sometimes you feel like a nut...sometimes you don't...
Indeed! Can't believe that line didn't occur to me while filming this. What a missed opportunity!
You can put your weed in there!
Good info I just wish it didn’t take 8 weeks to get a simple neck
How long should it take to build a neck from scratch to someone's specs?
You have to be patient and wait your turn when buying custom crafted parts it's always worth the wait!!@@warmoth
Entitled fool!
