- Wildcat football is upon us as the Brent Brennan era is set to begin against visiting New Mexico. Former Arizona special teams captain Barrett Baker joins us to preview the game and the upcoming season. Plus, we make our picks for some of the biggest games of the weekend, including Arizona vs. New Mexico.

Good talk, gentlemen. The thing I really dislike about college football is the "blowout". I've never enjoyed games where teams win and lose by 3 or more touchdowns.
I know it's an unpopular opinion, but to me, those games, "STINK."
Eric, give your guys a chance. If Arizona wins by 10 or less this week, it's a win. Take it and move on to the next game.
I'd be very happy with a 10 (or more) win season, with all wins being by less than 10 points.
It was about a 60/40 OU ratio at the Alamo Bowl, which was impressive since it about 80/20 against OSU. The Arizona side was pretty much full... Also, you go to the Rose Bowl for three reasons: 1. Cross it off the list and enjoy the pageantry of the Rose Bowl etc, 2. UA football has never had sustained success so capitalize when you have the chance, 3. You're not likely favored to win and frankly with the Cotton Bowl and Orange Bowl during the week so should you advance the attendance for those games will be meh so you go all in for attendance on New Year's.
The Rose Bowl is a crappy place to watch a football game. You need "Hubble Telescope" strength binoculars to see the field. 😁
I think the Wildcats will try to establish a running game for balance in tougher games down the road and this coach is not a run up the score guy so 30 points is a stretch. It looks like a feal me out game .Arizona wins and becomes more sure of future just support their games.

Coach Dick Tomey did not talk about the point spread. Fact is, the vast majority of Americans did not talk about the point spread because sports gambling was very, very illegal, and underground. The average guy had to get hooked up with a bookie, and those were really more difficult to find than purveyors of narcotics. Now, Tim, Dick and Harry are gambling on their smart phones. It's a whole different universe.
I know wagering on sports is a big part of Eric's interest and he definitley knows his stuff. I am not a gambler and when I watch the scores on Saturday the only thing that interests me is who wins and loses. The last segment of these podcasts where you have three people some more informed than others trying to predict a point spread and final score is useless information to me. Sorry gentlemen but at that point i lose interest. The only saving grace is that it is the final segment so I can exit without missing any of the the Wildcat news which is what I tune in for.
And that's fair...the good thing about a podcast is you can pick and choose the parts you like.

Ps we are going 11-1 regular season and we will win the Big 12 championship game then win quarter final game and upset semifinal game to make it to National Championship game! We finish 14-2 total!
