Mahmoud Mousavi-Majd, an Iranian accused of spying on Revolutionary Guards commander General Qassem Soleimani has been sentenced to death by Supreme Court in Iran. Mahmoud Mousavi-Majd is accused of spying for CIA and Israeli intelligence Mossad. Iranian judiciary department said that the alleged CIA and Mossad spy Mahmoud Mousavi-Majd had shared information about the whereabouts of General Soleimani with America and Israel. Iran later clarified that Mahmoud Mousavi-Majd's case is not linked to Soleimani's killing. General Qassem Soleimani, head of Quds Force, was killed in an American drone strike on January 3, 2020. Quds Force is an elite divison of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps responsible for extraterritorial military and secret service operations. Iran considered the killing of General Soleimani as a terrorist act of the U.S. government. While United States government blamed General Soleimani for masterminding attacks by Iran-linked militias on American forces in the middle-east region.
