Wow so many sacrifices, queen traps, hidden forks and all of the good stuff in this line.
I really like your series, because you not only move pieces but provide in depth explanations on the ideas behind each of the possible moves. 🙂
He’s very good at instructional chess a lot of good points

Thank you mate for the tips and explanations ☺
Such a great lesson for me at my level. Thanks for great explanations, Nelson! 👍👍
I'll have to watch this a few more times - got my head spinning on first watch 😵💫 , many thanks for this though ! Looking forward to all the lessons around mid July , definitely need it 😊
Agreed, this is where chess lessons look complicated but still fun. Anyway, congratulations on more than half a million subscribers for Nelson!
@@awang_ir thank you ! Yes definitely many congratulations to Nelson , he’s an excellent teacher & so “ human “ , one thing I really appreciate about him . Saw now 502k subscribers !!
Really nice game! Lots of cool ideas, which you present really well. Loving this series, and looking forward to the new course 👍
Thank you for the explanation. Your lessons are always great and it improves me a lot.
Wonderful video. You manage the explanation really good. I like that you tell all options. I am learning a lot with you. Tks for that
Very instructional game and book!
I learned a lot from nelsi. Thanks alot❤
Great game, and some wonderful lessons to be learnt! Thank you for sharing, Nelson! 😃👋❤️🙏
Great videos man. Never stop!
Ohh nooo Nelson didn't misspell Mistkae anymore!
The queen traps were interesting to watch!
I make that mistæk sometimes, too.
Whether or not he misspelled mistake you didn’t quite phrase your sentence with proper adverbs

Picked up chess recently and your videos have been really helpful. Thank you!
(@22:52) Hi Nelson. Instead of 1 Re6!! What about 1 Re3 instead? Now white is threatening 2 Rh3 followed by a mate on h8, and if 1 … dxe3, 2 fxe3, white now has a half-open f-file and his other rook can come into the game at f1, threatening to exchange the powerful knight defender for the rook.
After your line the bishop on d3 hangs and white wont be able to sack the rook without getting mated on the back rank after Qxe3+ (after Rf1), so white is completely lost unless stockfish finds a defensive brilliancy for white.
Edited for clarity
@@bc_7644 Also black can sacrifice the queen for the rook on f1 and would have 2 rooks and bishop for the queen and White's attack ends and Black wins!
7:30 white only lost a knight, if white finds Ne5 counter attack on the queen.
9:35 Qh4 keep an eye on that h7 pawn and prepare to play bishop g5 and trade the knight off. even if black plays h6, just sac the dark square bishop and bring the knight to g4
13:30 white don't want black to trade the bishop for the knight right? because after exd5, Qh6. nvm I can't find what going on
15:40 sac the queen and play Bh7#
16:10 dxc4 is the best move. apparently black can sac their queen and it is still +2.3 for white but its the best move
19:50 Qh6?
This is such a great video. Thank you for making this , how can I improve such tactics and calculation ? Is it about practising a lot of puzzles , reading chess books or just practice playing match. I can’t think of playing this way 😢😂
So funny when there is a German word all out of a sudden, especially when you're German :D almost the right pronunciation, good job Nelson!
Still learning new things even after years
L,l, lol

I'd love to know how long this game took. There are so many crazy lines here.
Idk but I'd like to know who's playing as this is extremely high level play from white.
@@danielward7008I think most likely a GM with the checkmate sacking the queen and mating with the Bishops that took some good calculating talented player
@ 21:15 I looked at both Ne6 and Re6, but was surprised to see Re6 was better. I thought Ne6, fxe6, Bxg6 looked good. Checkmate is still defended but I thought there might be a way using the rook on e1. What is the line Ne6 would initiate? Is it still a decent idea, or is it a mistake?
Thanks for bringing those informations.🙂
In 7:08 , can't White just attack the Queen with Ne5 an be in a completely nice position?☝🏻
It’s not massively relevant to chess, but in the book the author commented on how Philidor says in Chess Analysed in 1791 that- and then goes on to talk about how Philidor’s spelling wasn’t right. He was saying this because he would write using a medial s. For those interested, a medial s is a very old version of the lower case s. S as we now know it used to be its own capital form, much like how many other capital letters are completely different to their lower case forms today. But eventually the rules started changing around lower case s, and it started being used in the middle and end of words. Eventually with the advent of the printing press, it became more efficient to have one key for s instead of two. And soon after, the medial s died. There was nothing wrong with Philidor’s spelling, he was just using an antiquated form of speech which seems odd today. It was an interesting foot note!
to take is a mistake, that is if the trade is fair (knight for a knight, etc.)
rather let them take you, almost always the better choice
There is no way for u to show the eval..bar on the screen? Is there a horizontal bar that u could set under ur Pic screen? I notice u always have to move things around to show it. Idk I don't stream. Thanks for what u do😊
Evaluation bar would be awesome I agree.

question where does nelson sell the courses he mentioned?
This game is a great example of why Black has to be *extremely* careful when castling King-side in the French defense. The e-pawn blocks the Bishop away from the King side...just in general, it is much more difficult for Black to bring defenders than for White to bring attackers. So giving up a valuable defender *and* the initiative basically just handed White a winning advantage.
I know this because I've lost in exactly that fashion many times.
2.32 Qd2
Or just h6… who moves bishops two times in a row!?
Also never move the b7 pawn like a noob!
At 7:23 You forgot to mention that White does not lose the whole queen but rather a piece after Ne5 Rxb7 (Or she runs away to f3.) Nxd7 Nxd7 which wins for black. Also, at 10:24 instead of b6, what is wrong with Qd5 to try to trade queens by Qh5? Also, at 28:06 White loses the a2 pawn as well in this position. And from our view, losing two pawns like this is not OK as White without any ways to get them back. Also, Black can still play f5 and f4 and can still do the same plan of launching the attack which means that Black is better, right?
How many crazy line for stock fish
12:00 Stockfish analysis say Be4 is better like mistake moves c4?
So Black shouldn't have taken on e4 they also shouldn't have played b6, both of which look like standard moves. What moves should Black have played?
1...e5 or ...c5
Most likely after white castled black should have played c5 to challenge the center. If white ever captures the black knight, recapture with the bishop to be ready to play g6 without having to worry about swiss cheese dark squares around the black king.
19:34 Why moving a knight is an only move? What about Kg7 with possibility to run to F6 later?
2:45 Why not take the bishop first; if they trade queens you still gained a piece. If they take your bishop, then Qb7 to win their rook?
19:10 that's a false dichotomy, queen takes knight is also worth considering
Hey, sorry lol, I left a reply on your comment but I read it wrong, sorry about that 😅
Yes but the whole motif of the game is the weak dark squares around the black king. After 1. Qxg4, bf6, white has nothing because black now holds the dark squares.
@@bc_7644 Yes I agree that Nxg5 is the best move, I'm just saying that we shouldn't only consider recaptures in general.
Hii, by 19:50 why not knight to e6 threatining the rook and queen... so black takes with their pawn. Then white takes blacks g pawn with the white bishop, blacks king is extreamely exposed... will that also be a good move or not as good...? And with that knight sacrifice you can use your rook on the 6th rank to apply more pressure too...?the rook can also be sacrificed and take the knight of black, that will be too many pieces to deal with for black..?
Good idea but it doesnt work due to some crazy stockfish line
Chess is a draw. That's an interesting fact to me, as it queries the practice of resignation supported by it not being sporting to rely on or assume your opponent will make a mistake.

Maybe it would be good to put the name of the series / chapter number on the title?
20:00 what about Knight e6?
5:29 my thought was bishop to G5. Skewering the king to the queen?
You run into a fork from black when they play pawn to f6
I saw the fork after pausing and studying the position, but that would have been my blunder in a 5:00 game. Man I love chess
A bit above my pay grade! But I can learn from the queen traps in the opening. The exhibition game would have been far more interesting if it wasn't between a genius and a dumbass, but between equals.
4:36 - why doesn't black just push a pawn to f6 to fork white's bishop and knight?
Q-F3 Maybe, then if Black takes Bishop, Q-F7 mate, if Black takes Knight he loses the his Queen to the Bishop
Is white cooking rice?
9:35 what if black plays f5 and then nf6
why not f5 after Qxe4?
The e6 pawn hangs
Man i cannot pull any of these moves in a game. 1100 for life :(

Think I understand it better on 2nd & 3rd viewing 😅
23:24 What about Be4?
Be4 Bxe4 Nxe4 Qh7#
Be4 Bxe4 Re8 Bxg6 Fxg6 Qg6+
If Kf8 Qf7#
If Kh8 Nf7#
I Don't know what else You can play in this postion and I maybe wrong if you find any mistake just inform me
14:02 Why not Rae1?

I feel bad for you.😬
I feel that way sometimes.😇
How to break 2200
14:02 why not Rae1
also good but notice you're restricting the rook on f1 that way, so if the attack doesn't work out it can become inconvenient. Because with Rfe1 the other rook on the a file can still move to all other files while keeping a rook on f1
I thought the rook on f1 is for protecting the f pawn
2:16 And he sacrifices… THE QUEENS!!!
