Your oscilloscope is like your signature for your channel! It’s that extra piece of visual data that not a single other synthfluencer uses (at least not in every video/at least that if not seen). Very cool, very you. Thanks for the great content man👍🏻

I didn't read thru all the comments but in case nobody pointed it out already:
The AC-coupling removes DC-components of a signal by passing the signal through an internal filtering capacitor. So in case you would want to display oscilloscope-music a la Jerobeam Fenderson you would want to put it in DC-coupling as some of the animation effects are achieved by dc-components.

A great way to use the 2 pre fader sends, on most analogue mixers, that are unused for more most people who don't require booth monitoring..BRILLIANT

My brother is an audio repair man.. I have a recording synthesizer studio.. I helped him move the other day and he was like... Hey, you should take this brand new in the box oscilloscope! And I was like what can I do with it besides look cool in my studio? This video answers that question !

There are so many uses besides being a synth nerd and just tryin to flex gear. It’s an actual audio tool. It’s really helpful with correcting phase issues etc when recording multiple mics/ or several instruments when always recording DI.

I've had an oscilloscope for longer than I've known your channel, and I can also say it's my most used piece of music gear besides my audio interface. It's a B+K Precision 1479B, very similar to yours but with no delay and the intensity and power separated, as well as no "hold" settings.
I use it while listening to music, and it's showed me a lot about how finished tracks "look" and has given me a lot of insight as to how dynamics play into different genres. I pretty much always have it running when at my computer or playing with synths and it's given me a far greater understanding of sound than any other tool. What I've learnt from it has been especially helpful when it comes to understanding wavetable synths like Serum, as I can largely know what a wavetable is going to sound like just by looking at it.
I also use it while listening to horror themed audio books, with all my other lights off. Really adds to the experience :)

Oscilloscope is a must have. I understood how FM and PWM (and how affecting many other things) are working looking at Hydrasynth screen! I'm thinking about buy Korg NTS-2 for my other hardware ☺️ I like modern digital hardware a little bit more than old school. Also about Korg minologue as first synth - it's a must have. I made a mistake buying Behringer Deepmind 6 as my first synth. And sold it pretty fast cause here actually many reasons why you don't see this synths on every studio despite rich functionality 😊

Thanks for this video! I lucked out on craigslist here in Austin and picked up a fully functional ye olde Tektronix 2465 for a hundred bucks. I don't need all 4 traces but it might be fun to try to beat match two turntables in stereo. Looking forward to trying this out tonight! Keep making great content!

Your scope can help you make noise! Put LDRs on the display, bias and wire into Eurorack, feed interesting signals to scope X, Y and Z (if it has intensity mod).

I read online that it is important to have an interface/output with dc coupling and not ac coupling because it creates a clearer image. Does this have any burden on setting your inputs to ac instead of dc? It is difficult for me to tell any difference when switching between the two on my oscilloscope.

I believe you under-appreciate the xy-mode. afaik it can be very handy in tuning two oscillators (separate outs) (gives rotating objects that stand still in tune) and also when visually assessing phase issues (stereo out) (destructive interference stuff), much like a "goniometer" (is it called that? it may even be the very same thing, dunno) ... I'm not sure though, don't use this myself
