I liked this class a lot more than many others I have seen. So many fun steps not given as much these days. The mixed Vaganova/ Russian port de bras does add a nice touch to the dancing making it less academic. The music is not in sync with the moves in the video but that is not their fault. Thank you for posting will look for more in the future. 🙂
Non ballet dancer observers sometimes snarkily comment that the ballet masters and mistresses have "let themselves go," and that they themselves hiding behind their keyboards would never allow that to happen to themselves. Well, this ballet master's "paunch" is not an exception to that unkind observation, but what non ballet dancers don't seem to realize is the tremendous effort that is required and exacted from your body to remain in professional ballet dancing shape. Ballet is just too damn hard. When one retires from the stage and turns to teaching, it's very difficult indeed to put in the same effort to remain trim and fit, when it's no longer required.

I agree about the music but the teacher puts too many steps early in the sequences so there is no time left to finish in time with the lovely music. I think this prevents the dancers from doing their best.

It's too affectatious for my taste. I prefer the more modern style of training focusing on clear lines and technique.
Maybe better to remain shooting from above rather to switching back and forth. I want to see the movement and teacher's demonstration, not the dancers' face.
