Chinese New Year or generally referred to as Lunar New Year globally is the Chinese festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional Chinese calendar. The festival is usually referred to as the Spring Festival in mainland China In 2019, the first day of the Chinese New Year was on Tuesday, 5 February, initiating the Year of the Pig.
Lion dance is a form of traditional dance in Chinese culture and other Asian countries in which performers mimic a lion's movements in a lion costume to bring good luck and fortune. The lion dance is usually performed during the Chinese New Year and other Chinese traditional, cultural and religious festivals. It may also be performed at important occasions such as business opening events, special celebrations or wedding ceremonies, or may be used to honour special guests by the Chinese communities.

There are 2 ways to go about that.
1. Take any bus from 8B towards Science City and get down there. Walk towards Park Circus (5 minutes) and on your right will be the China Gate (entrance of China Town). You will find a few restaurants there.
2. The more popular and wise thing to do would be to take a bus to Science City via Park Circus. Not many follow this route so you might have to change into another bus once you get down at Park Circus. The bus stop for China Town is Topsia. Get down, take the road on the left, walk down for 5 minutes and the entire China Town awaits you on the right.
