RIP Joe and thank you for the many years of great music and entertainment! 🙏
One of the most talented groups ever. God bless you Joe. May you RIP and thank you for the many years of great music and entertainment!
R.I.P. Joe Bonsall, Will Remember decades of Christmas shows at the former Star Plaza theater in Merrillville Indiana
Back when singers had actual talent and didn’t need to drown themselves out with a big show
The bass singer is Richard Sterban, who is not just singing bass, but contra-bass, a bass range lower than actual bass which is incredibly difficult to sing. This guy could hit some mean, scary notes man.
@idontanswerquestions9879 said: "The bass singer is Richard Sterban, who is not just singing bass, but contra-bass, a bass range lower than actual bass which is incredibly difficult to sing."
No, he is not. Sterban has a typical bass singer range (E2-E4) with Sterban able to extend the upper for a range of E1-E4. He doesn't have an extended lower range. Contra bass is a term exclusively for musical instruments, there is no such thing as a contra-bass singer. You are an idiot.
Sterban is an accomplished vocalist and his range reflects a typical bass singer. You fan-boying on him doesn't increase his range. In fact, I suspect if he saw this exchange he would be embarrassed and angry at YOU for lying about him.
He was backup for Elvis at one time. He'd also left Donna Summer waiting at the alter.
@@janetmahoney5552 Really? I had no idea about that. Thanks!
He still hits those notes in his 70’s!
Yup! Richard was a member of JD Summers Stamps Quartet. Talk about a treat, two of the very best bass singers in the same quartet.
I really miss this style of country music.
now THIS is what i call COUNTRY! 😀
I've heard this song a thousand times and that 4 part harmony still sends chills down my spine!!
Sounds more like 3-note harmony with note doublings. Still awesome, but the chords could have been fuller.
Love joe's voice and how he can't stand still
Me too!
@@clairederickson3356 You are so right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
me 2
One of the best vocal groups of all time. Any genre.
We think a lot alike and their showmanship is top notch.
Their harmony is amazing. They're one of my favorite groups.
LOVE THE BOYS.....FOLLOWED THEM SINCE 70'S. GOSPEL DAYS TO NOW....ALWAYS BE AN OAK
This song takes me back to my teenage years. I had just met my girlfriend who would become my wife. Lots of great memories going with her to shows in Merrillville Indiana all of those years the Oaks performed there during the Holidays. We lost her to Breast cancer a few years ago at age 48 but whenever I miss her I play this video and were back watching The Oaks and having fun
Love the Oak Ridge Boys and always will!!!
2023 never gets old
2024 still beautiful
you just cant beat 70's country. I dont even listen to the garbage out today. Just great.
👍👍👍👍🤠
Boys and girls this is real country.. Listen to the harmony. Groups do not do this today.. Great band, just show that out of 214, 000 only 32 dislikes.. FROM NORTHERN ALBERTA, CANADA, STAY SAFE !!!!!!!
Love this song❤
Richard's voice is Awesome🔥🙌🏼
Duane Allen's voice is just silly smooth .
Rolling down the Arizona backroads, blasting this through my stereo.
one of my favorites and so are they. legends in their time
People always praise the great harmonies of R&B groups like the Temptations, the Manhattan’s and others who are very great but these guys can hold their own with anyone !
Now this IS country...not the crap playing today...
19Lyvewyre72 Oo
Boy do you have that right !
But they arent talking about America or the military or beer cups or mud and trucks or haqting liberals. They dont even have a clap-track!
@Jon Cole The irony of that statement. Gatekeeps country music. Doesnt know what a beer cup refers to.
Norm Macdonald was on Letterman and told David he got to meet Randy Travis backstage, and was excited about it because he was a big country fan. Letterman says to him, “Oh ya like country music, do ya? New stuff? Old stuff?” And Norm says, “No, I like the old stuff. The new stuff is gay.”
that Harmony is out of this world. something this great doesn't come along very often
Seems as we ALL agree on the great Harmony, They do a really great job. I don't think I'd ever tire of listening to them sing!
One of my all-time favorites from The Oaks...and I love all their songs!
boy does this bring back old memories
They still do this song live to this day. It's one of their concert staples.
This is musical therapy. Beautiful harmonies.
Oh wow what a night ! Way back when $20.00 for a ticket was a LOT of money (Plus I had to travel,, and buy something to eat, I sa the Oakridge Boys live, and when it was supposed to be over some of us stayed, and applauded until we got an encore. They said "Don't you people ever go home?", but they did a few more song for the encore, and then came to the edge of the stage, and bent down we could shake their hands, It's been all these years later, and I can sill remember it as if it were yesterday, Wow what a night !
Becky was from East Moline, I still reminisce of her playing guitar and singing the Oak Ridge Boys hit Y'all Come Back Saloon as she played her tambourine at the La Quienta Hotel in Corpus Christi. Memories
Oak ridge boys always with the crystal clear butter smoothie harmonies soooo good
I was stationed in Korea and I remember hearing this often.
Love me some Oak Ridge Boys. This is a great song.
Love the Oaks and this classic haunt from the way back machine never ever gets old. Thank ya!
OMG....they are so young here! ❤️
Heard this song on the radio for thd first time in my life today.
I remember sitting on my paw paws knee as a 4 or 5 yr old child listening to these guys. I love them . There music brings things to mind that, I've not thought about for years. Country music today, is not the same as it was then.
They are so talented. Love their music!
2024! Keep on or gentleman! Your a class of singers we lack in todays world! God bless you all!
One of my Favorite Songs By An Awesome Group
I got to see them live in concert, and we applaued for an encore. Got to shake the haands of 2 of them also----Oh Right ! !
Ah oak ridge boys fans are the greatest in the world.loyal loving and true y'all are ❤️
Absolutely love them/this!!! My dad had a ‘72 Chevy Blazer with a Craig 8 track player and a tape of Ya’ll come back saloon grew up listening to it... PS - WAY to long for their induction into the Grand Ole Opry- prob one of the most deserving acts in there!!!!
Love it.
Not many can cover this, so much talent
One of the best songs by the best group ever and 2 comments...well let me say hell yeah thanks for posting ....i love it!!
YES, The Ya All Come Back Salon, and Elvira
That band was something, and with those 4 part harmonies. Nothing better, and I've always been more of a Bakersfield and Outlaw Country fan, but great is great.
Mobile Alabama loves the Oakridge Boys...especially William Lee Golden...a PROUD Brewton Alabama man.
Brewton Alabama is about 70 miles north of Mobile Alabama.
God Bless America
God Bless Alabama The Beautiful
God Bless the south
God Bless The Crimson Tide
Roll Tide Roll
The Bass man is a NJ boy
Here is a hello from Evergreen, Alabama!!!
Crazy to see William Lee without the trademark "ZZ Top" beard
@HobertC83 That's William Lee without the beard.
MAV 97 the comment above yours made me literally lol. Concur with you. That’s most def not Steve sanders who came well after this recording. 🤣
I love this song!! I play it over n over
Love this tune masterpiece
Love this song I grew up listening to the oak ridge boys and I'm only in my late fourtys now
That’s some interesting looks there. Richard and Duane still look like they did when they were doing just gospel, William looks like he just came in from the ranch, and Joe looks like he’s headed to a club later.
I think this song was the one that started my life long following of the Oaks!
My favorite group of all time!!!!
I remember buying the studio version on 11-23-77 (Thanksgiving Eve) and playing it several times in a row. This rendition is damned good, too.
One of my very favorites of the Oaks!
Real music. Real Country. Today's Country is good, but it's not Oak Ridge Boys good.
"With few exceptions (Alan Jackson, George Strait and a few others) today's Country isn't "Country". Wearing boots and "cowboy" hats doesn't make it "Country".
great song and a greater group
There was a arcade shooting gallery at Six Flags over Georgia in the old west section. If you hit the target on the piano a portion of “Y’all Come Back Saloon” song would play. I think the song was still there all the way up into the late 00’s. Which was the last time I was there. I’m sure it’s long gone by now.
What a great song! Takes me back!
this brings back so many memories! when I listened to this song I lived in a little tiny town in colorado working at the ultimate cowboy bar: the Ohio City Saloon. The town is located in a valley that was full of ranches back in 1978 - 1982.
Such a good song.💕
Y'all good for another hour, Dave and Troy.
I ❤️ This Song
The first pump in the air at the end was my favorite part😂
I LOVE THIS SONG
So, when folks make a big deal of insisting music is as good or perhaps way better than 30-40 years ago, do they mean there's a modern-day version of the Oak Ridge Boys out there somewhere? Seems to me lots of musical styles and approaches from the recent past are being lost or forgotten.
Check out the a cappella group Home Free. They have amazing harmony and also do a lot of gospel songs. There are several compilations with them and the Oak Ridge Boys.
💞💯🙏Oak Ridge Boys
One of my favorite songs of all time!
😢 memories of the good days ❤
Love this one
love this
This is real country

Love always
Good music driving from Texas to cali
Bone Thugs N Harmony of Country music. Of course way before them. But some people will get my reference. I like all types of music and this is some of the best.
Words cannot describe that at .95 speed, this song makes me feel so much more nostalgic &.... Well, as I typed at the beginning of this comment that words cannot describe it.
RIP Joseph S Bonsall
PLEASE reply if you ever got to see the Oakridge Boys live in concert. I did. When it was over most everyone left, but some of us stayed, and clapped, then we got a 3 song encore. Then they bent down, and shook hands. I got to shake hands with William Lee Goldon. Claudia Heinowski
😍❤️🌹💋
RIP Joe
Jackie and Jake love to sing all the time together cause they are goofy and in love
Loved their harmony! What year was this? I just watched a video of them years later.
If memory serves me correctly, this is around 1977
@@bghany9695 Yes 1977 was the year it came out
That's what I'd like to know----what year was this?
This song often made Robert laugh.
