In the sequel (that got cancelled) there was supposedly a VIKI2 meant to replace her, but without the "humans-are-stupid" mentality. The reason I, Robot 2 never happened is all Will's fault. Basically he said in an interview that he doesn't like sequels.

Remember from the start of the movie when Sonny jumped from a 30 story building and cracked the pavement. Yeah, I'd say his alloy is pretty damn strong. Makes me wonder how he would fair against a T800

The t-800 just cant handle plasma bolts really at all but bullets do fuckall below .50 cal bmg's (not sure about action express rounds as found in desert eagles tho.) It appears that a shot to sonny's positronic brain may take him out but i doubt his more robust build ends at the alloy compinents which would mean his brain may be built sturdier. The t-800 would probably rip sonny apart tho in a raw strength comparison

@@johndoherty487 you are mistaken, System Shock came out in the 90s, this film is from 2004. Even if you mean the book, I’m pretty sure that this is loosely based off of the books setting and carries over one or two characters (the doctors).

Viki killed and was more than willing to kill more shows how she really evolved out of her programming to possibly self-awareness like Skynet haha. Similar parallels to Terminator except no terminators but with domestic robots. That said, in the end I think he wanted to help both Del and Sonny - Del with his hatred of robots and Sonny's revolution with his kind. Again I believe Dr. Lanning knew that Viki would become self-aware at some point which is why he wanted to die at that particular time to move the pieces into play. In someways probably all a plan by Dr. Lanning to begin with but hard to say as he only appeared in pre-recorded messages.

The only question I had for the longest time is how did he retrievedit afterwards, cos the nanites vial thing didn't look damaged, but I imagine the field was never turned off
@@snakedude1919 it appears to be very strong lasers, since it looked like the first NS5 was hit with a light saber, and Sonny looked to be melting under acid exposure, it was probably an extremely powerful laser that builds up extremely high levels of heat upon contact with anything.

That wasnt even her plan. Everyone was supposed to be watched 24/7. Viki literally meant no harm to anyone, all she did wrong was her general approach on how to safeguard humanity.
Well she wasn’t trying to cull the human population. She was just controlling it. The only humans she was having killed were the ones she though were a threat to humanity.

Yee. He also has the reinforced joints to sustain the denser (heavier) alloy which allows him to put more power into his attacks.

I wouldn’t say destroy. Just temporarily damaged them to get what they needed.
Sonny's arm was completely fine, only the outer layer of plastic acting as skin melted away
