I had enough anxiety going from Michigan into Ontario, so can't imagine what these guys would do when they saw my US passport. Perhaps they'd just deny me entry and tell me go back to Finland. I think, in better times, Russia would be an interesting place to visit. Definitely on the "do not travel" list these days.

They would take your US passport and the look for your entry visa into the Russian Federation. If you don't have that, you can't be admitted into the RF. They will tell you to turn around and go back to Finland. Thousands of Americans travel to and from the RF every year. As long as they're not smuggling marijuana vape pens or worse things, they pass unhindered. Don't be that women's basketball league transgender who thought Russia's law somehow magically didn't apply to him/her.
