The ship came out of hyperdrive in a silent system, scanners picking nothing up but the signatures of its twin stars and nearby planets. The drone of the antimatter engines and ventilation, constant, interspersed only with the monotonous voice of the autopilot, plunged me into a soft slumber. The familiar shape of the pilot seat, the reassuring reports of the computer, and fresh air blown out of the life support eased the tension of the last few days. For that, there was nothing quite like solitary travels.
This system was only a waypoint between two hyperlanes I had to take along my travel. I just needed to traverse its eerie silence, lifeless, unperturbed, like I did with countless others. The myriad of stars along the border of this sector being for the most part ignored, and their planets uninhabited, I had become familiar with their peaceful beauty, their inevitable loneliness.

This is so good. Laugh at me if you want, but I have always felt like driving my car is like driving a spaceship. Now I can actually feel that way by playing this in the background as I drive around. You've definitely earned a subscriber.

Another great piece. My ambience suggestion this time is! *drum rolls* satellite array for seti. The slow mechanical hum of rotors moving the dishes into position, the static hum in the air, an empty desolate wind, and for fun maybe have the odd alien noise in the distance.

Finally! I’ve been looking for ambiance like this for a while now. I’m running a edge of the empire campaign for a few friends and it’s hard to find good sci-fi (or Star Wars for that matter) ambiance. Keep it up!
