  • Just a look at the current condition on the racing lawn mower that I recently purchased. It's only got like half the bolts in it, and the rest is kinda "Jury-Rigged" together.

    @blankcreations thanks man, I appreciate that man. you can always add that stuff later. I like these kinds of projects, they make you better at working metal.

  • @kidmechanic98
    @kidmechanic98 Před 13 lety

    thats so true ive been off roading before i can remember but intil i wached your vidoes i never thought about a lawn mower. cant wait to build my own

  • @dewchyloucourtney1099
    @dewchyloucourtney1099 Před 10 lety

    hey fearless great work on the vid's and the new project. I built a bar stool racer. it goes like crazy fast. but I'm liking the racing mower design with wider base and the lower center of gravity. thanks for the new ideas. keep up the great work :)

    • @Fearlessfront
      @Fearlessfront  Před 10 lety

      thanks man, I could see how a bar stool racer might feel dangerous. This is pretty scary now too, feels like a spider on the road. Just sticks right to it.

  • @cj15941
    @cj15941 Před 12 lety

    Jesus man, this thing was S.K.E.T.C.H.Y. when you started out. I couldn't appreciate it's full sketchiness until after watching all that you've done to rebuild it and then rewatching this.

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 12 lety

    thanks man, it was really sketchy! it had half the bolts, no brakes and the chain/clutch were on borrowed time!

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 12 lety

    it is used to change the gearing, or sometimes to move the location of the drive chain... look them up, there is a lot of info on them

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 13 lety

    @pease5921 I know, I didn't think it was a great idea, but I needed to ride it atleast once before I tore it apart!

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 13 lety

    @67RcodeFairlane Its like a seconed axle and bearings without the wheels. you can use it to gear things up or down.

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 13 lety

    @shamchowder when it's done, the track width will be the same front and rear. This is gonna be a high speed, flatland racer... no woods and mud for this guy!

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 13 lety

    @blankcreations Yeah, I'm thinkin that I'm gonna use the honda clone. The more I research them, the better I like them. I've never worked on one, but I like learning new things! I'm still not 100% on the jack shaft, just because it's more moving parts. I may try it without it first, then maybe add it later.

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 13 lety

    @TheBackyardMechanics Thanks for the feedback man! how long have you had it?

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 12 lety

    @SwampBoyJ I think they were built by the same company, and sold under different names. I have a lot of people ask me if it's this or that, I don't really know what it was, I just know what it's going to be!

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 13 lety

    @MrHarrysachs69 Yeah, thats kinda what I was planing on. they are like half as tall as this motor as well!

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 13 lety

    @mark16443 I'm not quite ready for a motor yet, I'm gonna get it to be a nice rolling chassis first. I'm gonna try to sell the old motor because it too big to fit under the hood.

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 13 lety

    @fattypipemuarry reverse would be nice, but an 11 horse might be too big. (physicality) I don't think it would fit. I wanna keep it really simple so anyone can jump on it and ride it. I might put a honda clone on, then build it for more power.
    Thanks for the feed back though!

  • @VildsBuilds
    @VildsBuilds Před 13 lety

    On the harbor freight motor you can remove the gas tank and put a foam air cleaner on it then run a seprate tank, then you can slide it under the hood because the piston dosent run straight up, it is like at a 45 degree angle.

  • @lunarrn
    @lunarrn Před 13 lety

    Just remember that your suspension is your tires. I know you run lawn mowers off road, but a bump at 40 MPH is hell with no shocks. I'd use a low pressure ATV tire all around if possible.

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 13 lety

    @lunarrn it's gonna live it's life on flat ground. I dont think it'll need suspension. although it would be pretty cool!

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 13 lety

    @kidmechanic98 thnks man! I've been plugging away on it, have you been watcing the build videos?

  • @pivotboy63
    @pivotboy63 Před 13 lety

    i have a harbor freight clone on my mini bike and so far its been a great engine. the reason you dont see them on hf's website is because hf is getting rid of the blue engines for the new black ones, which are pretty much the same, except the black ones have slightly bigger bore and they have a cast iron bore liner. at the hf near me they have the blues on clearence for $65

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 13 lety

    @GarrettJDB yeah, I was riding someone else's half built project... very sketchy!

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 13 lety

    @kidmechanic98 I am too! There's something rewarding about conquering an obstacle they should't be do'able, with the vehicle your on/in.

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 13 lety

    @V8Mike93 are those brakes complete? if so, where do I get them?

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 13 lety

    @bubbawinchester nice! what was the gearing on it? and the tire size?

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 13 lety

    @54thebigman front is 4" rear is 5", I have a few videos of it. the pulley swap one is best.

  • @69techlover
    @69techlover Před 13 lety

    I think it was made from spare parts lying in the shed. "oh fudge, lost a screw, hand me somethung pointy!!" lol i wana see you put some suspension on it. Front and back. That seems like it would entertain you.

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 13 lety

    @yamaharules163 It will get built once everything is in good working order

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 13 lety

    @dragata1 that would be crazy! I want to keep this thing light though, and I want people to ride it, not be afraid of it! lol

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 11 lety

    it would be easy to do. just use some 1"x2" rectangular tube steel. that would do the trick

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 13 lety

    @th19940305 yeah i did... I got an old tractor, and I can pretty much only use the frame, I'm gonna re build everything... it sux but at least it'll be really nice when its done

  • @pease5921
    @pease5921 Před 13 lety

    damn dude what a bucket of bolts ill definitely give you credit for riding that thing it dosen't even look ridable when you look at like your doing in this video

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 12 lety

    @Tankdriver100 yeah, but it looks weird to me. I like it better full width in the rear, but that just my taste. I'm not planning on racing it anyway

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 13 lety

    @sebrock93 U sure? I cant tell for sure because everything's been painted over.

  • @Ritzsmokes
    @Ritzsmokes Před 11 lety

    Maybe you should put some fenders on it so if you go over a rock, the rock won't fly up and hit you. Also, if you had to go through water, without fenders, you would get wet.

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 13 lety

    yes im a BIG fan of any thing off road and i think if seen just about all of them

  • @shamchowder
    @shamchowder Před 13 lety

    the reason the front end is wider is because if you can get between something with the front end then you know you can get by it with the backend i know because that was mine and my friends hot rod

  • @Fearlessfront
    @Fearlessfront  Před 13 lety

    @blownutsmyass I know, but I'll make it what I want it to be, would have been nice to get it for cheaper, but oh well. I don't see these often.

  • @pivotboy63
    @pivotboy63 Před 13 lety

    @Fearlessfront i think the blue ones have a steel bore liner im not 100% sure though, but i know the blacks are cast iron bore

    @Fearlessfront gotta put on a new starter and dlean out the carb. im thinkin on liftin it like your craftsman but with a 3 on the back and 8 on the front, did that to a 11 hp yard pro and it ran a lil over 40 lol

    harbor freight sill has engines, there was some in their add this week, a 6.5hp is 180$ and there is a 7hp duromax engine on ebay right now for $170. damn that thong looks like its about to fall apart, id check to see if the clutch is alright seeing as the shaft seems to be cut off center, drilled off center, too small etc.... replacing the tie rods sounds like a good idea and id defiantly say that thing needs a total rebuild lol. i can msg u the ebay link if you want
