Just over a year ago I decided to make the investment and bought the GoPro Hero 9 Black, and it has been getting the job done! I've gotten so many memories with/from my Gopro Hero 9 Black! The ONLY problem with it is that the screen freezes here and there, but the pros outweigh the one con. Hoping to have it for a few more years.
GoPro 9 is very similar quality to the 11, only advantages of the 11 are that it can shoot 10bit HDR and higher frame rates. The sensor is a bit newer on the 11 as well
Do you think it's worth buying this camera in 2023. Is the problem with the camera freezing and overheating a nuisance? Perhaps this was not the case in your case? I also read that the menu works with a delay, has this also happened to you?
Had my hero 9 for 3 years also! Has never let me down. Great camera!

Same here, been using the 9 for a long time now, and only thing I could ever want more of is battery.
What I did was pick up a pack of two GoPro Enduro Batterys. So worth it!

I have the hero 4 black, films 4k30 never let me down it's about 8 years old
Mine is very similar. Incredibly heavy use. Nigh on indestructible when used reasonably.

And the good thing is all those corroded parts are very easily replaceable. How's the quality of the recording compared to the black hero? 11?

Mine lasted me a years and a half never went in water, never dropped just sat on my bike helmet as POV and stopped working.

I've not had any issues with freezing or overheating
But the camera is on the last generation processor so the menus can feel a bit slow but never unusable
