âAre you going to be depressed after this?â
What a completely ridiculous thing to ask, and coming from someone who has covered Tyson for years, itâs very disappointing.
Tosser
Yep that question was absolutely pointless and Iâm still trying to understand why he asked itđ€·ââïžâŠ.he talks some shite does Gareth
Such a bizarre question to ask, what a helmet
I was very confused
its cos they were discussing the possibility of it 3 days before the fight

13:20 why you here for lads
đđŸ
Cheers mate.
Cheers bro
You legend đŠ”
Cheers saved some time. This guy really loves the sound of his own voice.
How can you ask someone âif they are going to go into depression nowâ. Itâs so disrespectful, I was shocked and appalled.
Câmon man, ur comment is the epitome of why context matters. The only reason that question would ever even have presented itself is due to the fact that Tyson Fury himself is the one who made these very statements of what happens to him after every high heâs had from his accomplishments. Itâs one of the very essence as to why so many ppl have gravitated towards Tyson as heâs one of the few whoâve been man enough to talk about his mental house struggles publicly.
The question wasn't wrong. It's how it was worded
@@U2L8 All about the timing, say it to him in private if he really is concerned...not after a huge fight ffs!
@@U2L8 it's a pretty moronic question on a fundamental level. Depression does not drop you a text to see if you're home. How is Fury to know if he is going to slip into depression? It seems like he has got a pretty hefty blind spot in understanding.
You guys are angrier than fury
I was surprised with his questions ie retirement and Tyson falling into a depression, extremely negative
Because fury talked about it in his interview with him a few days ago . Fury says he was depressed after the second fight with wilder for 2 weeks even though he won so emphatically . Watch it on his channel
@@leejenkinson so? Why did he bring it up itâs daft the big Bono looking pr1ck
@@ABC-dw7pe because they are goods friends , and Tyson fury is a good advocate for mental health and inspires a lot of people , hence the question . You lot are just jumping on board the keyboard warrior haters . If Tyson fury isnât bothered then why are you lot ? The question is aimed at him not you numpties
@@leejenkinson spot on , Tyson has no respect for a lot of journalists, this fella isnât one of them, when Tyson was going through bad times Gareth was one of the very few to keep in touch with him, heâs not a sheep following the flock and writing reports attacking Fury like 95% did, Fury remembers this.
@@leejenkinson donât get all high and mighty for likes about it. He might not be bothered - so you say - but regardless of context itâs a bit of an autistic question to be asking less than 24 hours after a phenomenal achievement regardless of how close you are with someone - just think about it for a minute before accusing people of purely being haters
One of the worst questions Iâve ever heard, spat my brew out when I heard him say it this morning
Seriously

"No we have Bono at home."

Garath is Russell Crowe end of.
I know Gareth is a Fury fan but the question he asked Fury post fight was nuts!
What was the question ?
Are u gonna fall into depression again
As such . I think he had been drinking etc , a bit excited and over friendly. Could have asked âwhat are you going to do to preoccupy yourself in the mean time ? â
Letâs be honest weâre all waiting for the David haye interview haha
Hayeâs become a joke⊠itâs a shame.
Can't wait to hear what him and wilder have to say
"David version 3 haye" the guys deluded, thinking he could beat tyson before let alone now.
That and John Fury, ideally them both being interviewed togetherđđ
đ€Łđ€Ł
If he had asked Fury ânow youâre gonna have a well deserved break, what are you gonna do to keep yourself in a good place mentally?â That wouldâve been a better question than that nonsense.
Exactly, I think it came from a good place but it was very poorly worded
Exactly. So many ways he could have asked this in a better way.
I couldn't believe he asked tyson if he would fall into a depression.
Like that's a choice wtf man
Seemed like a in house comment between the twoâŠthats what i thought. Coz in its cold context it was just ODD
But Fury didnât take it like that
@@DeeTeaDee I know he has got a good relationship with Gareth it was just a very odd thing to ask
@@CHRISTOPHER011 it was odd how he asked it. I dont like how its lit over like..well youve got nothing else go work towards now
It was weird and a totally shit thing to ask. And if there was some kind of in house convo between them, his post fight press conference wasnât the place to bring it up. What a tit.
@@DeeTeaDee The thing is though, those are private questions, asking him just after a big win like that is just not right.
Only Brit journalist to ask questions and he asks if heâs going to retire and then asks if heâs going to go into a depression now does he not realise depression is not a choice absolutely ridiculous he could of asked anything but he goes with those 2 questions.
Stupid questions, couldnât believe what I was hearing while watching the presser
Totally agree , listened to that in the post interview couldnât believe the stupidity in that
It came across like you were a twat - what a question to ask
@Melvin Deeply
Yep but on the flip side we can fight too lol đđđđ
Heâs a journo. Theyâre all horrible little tossers
I think the depression/retirement thing was Gareth's way of trying to show "he knows" Tyson on a more personal level. The way he announced who he was and his paper before asking the question when I didnt hear any other journo do that at that post fight presser was an insight into his ego. He has a clear obsession with being Tyson's mate. I remember when he said he was sad that Tyson stopped calling him Russell Crowe. I expect Fury meant it as a pisstake in the first place.
SPOT ON!!!
You've nailed it mate.
Thankyou! Just been saying exactly this, he's cringe. Leeching onto tyson and his family for access for his own career always begging to come along with tyson and his family the ass kissing the pretending likes he's tysons best mate and really close to him đ its cringe. That question was purely for attention for himself and profile and wanted a reaction out of tyson even if it was to detriment of tysons mood and mental state at that time. Just a total pretenious full of himself twat
Tbf, at least he admits that the question came across wrong.
But it was a dumb question.
It's pretty standard in a normal press conference to announce your name and the publication but otherwise agree.
@@joegardiner394 yes. (Some) other questioners did announce their names and credentials.
13:07 for Garethâs stupid questionsâŠ.. I like Gareth but that was very foolish of him asking a very negative question after such a positive performance. Heâs like Bob arum wasnât present at the press conference, he would have had it coming

The mental health question was so stupid and out of order. How do you ask a man who nearly killed himself if heâs gonna sink into a hole again? Come on ... check your ego and realise where your questions are coming from.
You donât know what people with mental health are going through and regardless of Tysonâs win, you donât know how he is feeling. You donât ask them type of questions period.
I thought was a vybe killer when I see it... bit of a nobbish thing to say

Normally LOVE this guy, if he just held his hand up here and said he got it wrong, I still would. Inappropriate question , under any circumstances for the night that was in it. Never meet your heroes, eh? đ€·đ»ââïžđ
I agree. This is not something he should ever try to defend. He should just (like you said) raise his hand and just apologize for saying something that was not well thought out and just move on from the issue.
Agree
@@alcoyne3333333333333 Everyone should know exactly what he meant by the question, Tyson has said it himself so many times in interviews, when he does it all and has nothing to strive for he gets depressed. Came out abit backwards, but I'm sure Tyson knew exactly what he meant.
@@ciaranbrennan1193 Does it all? He's beaten a 40 year old Klitschko and Wilder... that's it. He needs to now fight AJ, Usyk, Whyte etc

How not to word it - are you going to be depressed after this?
How to word it - mental health is very important, and you've talked about big lows after a big high. What are you going to do, to make sure you keep a positive mindset moving forward after this incredible win.
Opens it up to a general talk about mental health, training, family etc. Garrets wording is basically a yes or no question. You need something the interviwee can elaborate on
If fury had a proper training camp with no interruptions it wouldâve been a lot easier last night. It made for an even greater fight
I thought it was bang out of order. To say tyson keeps him and ifl and others close around fight week and gives him interviews etc I felt it was disrespectful from bono

Gareth needs to pay attention to Tyson. In the lead up 2.5 weeks ago in an interview Tyson said what his plans are for the fighters he wants to go through b4 he puts down the gloves and the final bell rings. He wants Dillion, then Joshua, and then Joshua II.
Kugs was saying he was looking for haye on Sunday no interview as yet
Really fancies himself and seems high
I agree with most of these comments...
When I watched the press conference and Fury pointed to Gareth I expected a " who would you rather fight, Whyte or Usyk kind of question, but asking about how his state of mind will be after the fight was rediculous.

I like GarethâŠâŠ.BUTâŠ.Asking Fury about his potential to fall back into depression immediately following the fight conclusion was callous & unprofessional.
Cmon Gareth, you can do better (and usually do).
I think he asked about depression because he is worried about it happening and perhaps was wanting Tyson to respond to it head on. I understand why some people would think it insensitive, but I honestly think it was just a misjudged timing and wording on Gareth's part. He and Tyson have an understanding and a bond.
