- The Evora GT is a mid-engine sports car from Lotus. On the outside you will discover forged wheels, AP Racing brakes, massive rear diffuser and center exhaust and see-through engine bay. On the inside you will be greeted by carbon fiber bucket seats, Alcantara covered interior and analog gauges. Under the engine hatch is a 3.5L supercharged V6 mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Toyota engine in a Lotus. BMW engine in a Toyota. What the hell is going on? All jokes aside. This is a sweet car and it sounds fantastic. Great camera work Steven. Your contribution to Joe's content is very underrated.
My Lotus has a Renault engine! ...ugh!
BMW engine is not a toyota engine. The supra using a BMW engine. But Lotus called up Toyota to borrow there engine when Toyota wouldn't even use there own engine in the Supra.

Joe I know the infotainment center is a little dated but to get a drivers car that looks good and has that reliable engine from Toyota for 86k is a steal to me.
I will not argue with that at all Kenneth! For me I wouldn’t even listen to any music because that engine sounds so damn good!
I have no idea if it’s actually “better” than the Cayman GT4 but (aesthetically) I prefer & would purchase the Evora.

Had the chance to drive one of these last year. Happened to be an automatic example and the gearbox felt sluggish. But the steering and driving dynamic on canyon roads are unmatched. I hope to own a Lotus one day.
I started waking up to cars in the 80's and this brand was one of those rare and coveted cars. Love how they partnered with Toyota to keep a solid sports car going.

This is a sport light car!! Doesn't need any technology, just pure driving.
Just think about it for a minute, Joe if the car had a transmission that shift as fast as a PDK, down pipes, and a tune, it would be a supercar killer, especially on track days😁😆

I saw a Lotus Elise a couple months ago. it looked cool but I never realized how tiny they are in person. I can't imagine anyone over 5'5 or 120 pounds being able to get in and out of that car comfortably lol

This car brand was the one of my favorites besides Toyota, Honda, Lexus, Acura, and Scion.
Change that color to either red, white, or yellow with black out mirror caps, and this thing is perfect 👍

That car could outperform a GT4 with a smaller pulley on the Supercharger and a few supporting mods that go with it. .. I wonder if one could adopt that Supercharger onto a Camary TRD V6.. Ohhh boy!

Gotta love the Evora GT. I honestly think it's truly a successor to the NA1/NA2 NSX which the Evora GT reminds me of. It's mid-engine and rear-wheel drive, just like the 1st gen NSX. Not only that, that V6 engine is what I like about the Evora GT despite the fact that this V6 was built by a Japanese brand like Toyota which Lotus uses. Even with a supercharger on this Toyota 2GR-FE V6, it has more characteristics than a Porsche Cayman when that V6 screams. But, with the Lotus Emira being the final gas-powered car by Lotus, would you take the Evora GT or Emira?
Evora GT: More horsepower, last handmade Lotus, and very limited production run less than 300 in 2000 and 2021 made for United States. If you have kids, the Evora also has back seats. The Evora is also a simpler car than the Emira with less electronics so there is less that can go wrong with it.

The Lotus Evora GT looks to be great sports car and the sound from that engine is insane. I would still have to go with the Cayman GT4 because I think that it looks better, it has a nicer interior, and it's a Porsche. You definitely can't go wrong with a Porsche, especially a GT product. For me the Porsche is the whole package, while the Lotus is only good in some key areas like handling and sound.

Awesome video. I would take this over the Porsche. I'm always drawn to a unique car. I had an MR2 Spyder when everyone had a Miata. I have a Polestar 2 when everyone has a Tesla. My problem with Porsche is any customization is an added $$. Different color,different upholstery, etc. etc.
How in the world has Toyota not figured out how to make the Camry sound as good as that Evora. The Evora is just a sexy looking vehicle and magnoglorious sounding WTF!!!!. it will depreciate quicker than the Porsche cayman GT4 which means as a used car it might be a bargain. The Toyota engine reliability is a plus which will allow for you to focus on the other English car problems that will arise. at least it won't leave you stranded on the side of the road.
