I can confirm with the new model amplifiers the new 5 channel 4 channel and all three new Marine models they all come with a new bass knob when you turn it all the way down it's zero when you turn all the way up it's 100
I see that PB sub on your bench. I had two of those 10s sealed in a box with a MB Quart 1000 watt amp. They are crazy good for deep bass and very accurate musically on double kick drums... I'm order the Stinger single 12in combo with the 1000 watt amp and set up kit next week.
Mark Chao engineered these amps. Should be solid, but that remote gain knob is horrible. Not worth connecting it in, and just use an in- line through the rca's. But as far as the amplifiers themselves... good solid power for a really good budget. Nice video man
Did you change the Pot out yet? Curious about the value if so. Also if they used 3 wires, which one would be a ground . If no ground was used, That would explain the behavior of the Pot besides just the value of it. Ground on leg 1 " Min Volume " would make the response much more even provided the resistance value is correct of the Pot .
If you're more spl leaning, great combo. I like the amp more than the box. I'd like to test the sub in other scenarios to see if it could be more versatile, or it's a one note wonder. I'm now curious about their lower power sub.
Any update on the knob? I've done a few custom knobs before. You want to map out the resistance, see what the min resistance is and what the max usable is (so probably the resistance at 11:00). Get a pot with that max resistance. Then you need to decide the taper. Linear taper has half the resistance at 12:00. An audio/logarithmic taper starts out with small jumps in resistance and climbs quickly as you approach 7:00. I've noticed a lot of cheap amps dong get the bass knob circuit right. Stinger and Power Acoustik for example. The better brands, like Kicker and Rockford, give you that perfect increase as the knob turns. They take the time to get it right. I don't know why the cheaper companies can't choose the proper potentiometer. You don't save money using the wrong values, you just aggravate the customer.
I'm assuming the ones that don't care just throw the cheapest B50k in there and call it good. This has been on my mind, and I have a wide assortment of pots otw.
@@slickwillybudgetkingIf there is a resistor added to the circuit under the knob heatshrink that's what is limiting the lower level. You can swap in a lower resistor or remove it to reduce the output further.
Hey what amp in line fuse is recommended for the 1500 I want to order soon and can’t seem to find what fuse I need as the amp doesn’t have one included
I haven't looked closely, but typically you would remove the adjustment knob, then the nut on the threads. Insert potentiometer in bracket, put nut back on, knob back on. Gently tighten that nut, they strip easily.
Well I got mine in and hooked up amp keeps going to protect at higher bass levels 2006 avalanche is it possible my 160 alt is over charging sending into protect idk man having a hard time I’m $600 in and highly unsatisfied

If powerbass, alphasonik would be more price competitive I'd try more of it.

If you specifically want a downfiring spl setup, sure. If you want all around musical bass, no.
