The way Roth looked at Greg in the beginning was telling. Greg is so loud, bless his soul. Beyond! Penny Dreadful was probably my favorite show this year and I'm anticipating season 2. What was best about the show were the very grounded and layered character bits which deviated from the main story arc but made the narrative that more engaging. Great show which benefitted from the uniform vision of a single writer.
I loved Hannibal also, but I didn't like at all the way they ended the series. We knew from the start that Hannibal had to get away so that he would eventually meet Clarise, but to off the whole cast in the last 15 mins. was a bit overkill in my opinion.
