  • This little sweet bulbul was handed over to me by Dr. Vidya Ranga, a well known Paediatrician of mysore, karnataka, who was kind enough to give the baby bird, her complete attention and care during his first four weeks!! He was later handed over to me as he needed a larger living space !! Thanks to her care and support during his initial days, he has now grown up and will be ready to lead an independant life within a few days !!!

@@prerna5735 Thank you for feeling for me.
My bull bull loved to eat ripe papaya. He was crazy over ripe mango.
I gave him many varieties of food.
Ripe papaya, mango, jambu, banana, apple, grapes, guwawa, oranges, water melon, ripe jackfruit etc
In addition I fed him boiled rice which loved a lot. Liked noodles too. He always wanted to try different tastes . I offered him milk rice, yellow rice, fried rice, boiled chick peas, noodles he loved, dosai he loved.
I hand fed most of the time and sometimes I fed with a sharp end broken tooth pick.
For proteins , I fed him boiled egg white , sometimes fish or chicken boiled.
He loved omlette taste but didn't like egg yolk much .
If your birdie is very small , he may need syringe feeding with cereals.
Add some egg whites for proteins.
I didn't give mine worms and perhaps that maybe why he ate cloth - strips. I'm wandering and soo sorry.

Their moms feed them insects and worms .
Therefore there maybe a place for raw egg whites. However , for my Beaky I hand fed small specks of boiled egg whites.
Usually the bird liked foods of soft and sweet texture.
Yes , this maybe our Destiny.
My Beaky used to sit on my shoulder and peck slowly at my earring.
      Love the memories.
Yes , I contributed to an alms for priests , following the day of demise of my birdie and offered all the merits to his soul so that he can have a better place in next birth. I give him to Gods. .May all Gods look after him. What else can I do...

      Hey
They usually dont wander around a lot so you can let it free during the but youll have to keep them in a warm place in the night. A warm, safe, cage
And as for the food, you'll have to gently open its mouth with your hand..and hold its beak closed after you put the food in.. Or else there are chances of it spitting it out. Just like humans kids taking a tablet. After a few days, it'll eventually come to understand that you are a safe person. It is their instinct that makes them fear humans :D

    • @FarmHouseDiaries
      @FarmHouseDiaries  Před 2 lety +3

      Hey! glad you asked..
Apple wouldn’t be the best thing to give as it isn’t spongy enough to move down the throat easily. Sure, you can give him egg. Just make sure it’s properly boiled and it’s totally OK to give the yellow part of the boiled egg. You can consider egg as the main diet.
Bulbul’s are omnivores, which means they eat both veg and non-veg.. so if you spot your bulbul eating an insect/worm, there isn’t a need to worry at all.. in fact, I had to force mine to eat a worm for the first time, and then he got the hang of it, he started searching for more all by himself 😆😆

Hey and just another personal suggestion. I would really want you to feed your bird vitamin drops. You’ll find them on Amazon, they’re called “ bird plus vitamin drops”. One drop a day will be sufficient.
You might not want to trust the drops at first sight, but I assure you, for I’ve been giving it to my bird and he grew up to be really healthy after I started giving him the drops. Just for 10 days will be enough
He was small, and had weak feathers, and a dull attitude, the drops helped me a lot. It contains all the extra nutrients the bird misses in everyday life. The drops are nesessary as the food we give them each day isn’t the original food the mother would have given. So the food we give doesn’t contain the amount of nutrients the bird requires.
No force, but the drops really help..

Avoid touching him too much or getting food over his feathers. Hold him using gloves and if food is spilled clean him with a slightly wet cotton-bud like the one for ears so that his feather are not sticky.
It could also be a diet problem in which case u can get specially made pellets with all the required minerals.

Hello. It’s normal for the bird to chirp for as long as it wishes unless you haven’t fed him properly.
Normally, the norths do not feed their chicks after dark. So if you feed it after 7 pm, it wouldn’t be a natural routine. Just make sure you keep him well fed throughout the day.
