What is Halley's Comet?
In 1705 English astronomer Edmond Halley published the first catalog of the orbits of 24 comets. His calculations showed that comets observed in 1531, 1607, and 1682 had very similar orbits. Halley suggested that they were really one comet that returned approximately every 76 years, and he predicted that comet’s return in 1758. Halley did not live to see his prediction come true (he died in 1742), but the comet was sighted late in 1758, passed perihelion (closest distance to the Sun) in March 1759, and was named in Halley’s honour. Its periodic returns demonstrated that it was in orbit around the Sun and, thus, that at least some comets were members of the solar system. When this album came out for whatever reason I wasn't a fan of most of the songs in it. It will be 2024 in about an hour and fifteen minutes from me typing this and I now I think this is the best album to have ever existed and this is one of the best songs in it.
As we mature and go through some experiences, our music taste changes. This also happened to me

I just realised its been a year since this album has been realised. So many things happened to me in such a short time that it feels that i lived more this year than what i lived in my whole life. This comment may feel out of context but i follow Billie's music for a long time and i think that what i feel when i listen to her music surpasses every change i may have gone through. This song reminds me of philophobia (the fear of falling in love)
The way she describes how she’s fallen for someone she shouldn’t have with a sort of fear in her voice, not fear because she shouldn’t have fallen for this person, but fear because she has fallen in love. It’s almost as if she’s punishing herself for falling in love knowing the pain love can bring ignoring the joy it brings. This whole song also feels like she’s sat on the beach with her toes in the water letting her situation sink in she has fallen in love.
Plus, the metaphor of Halleys commet (a commet that only comes once in a lifetime) kind of described that she’ll only fall in love once in a lifetime.
Another example is the last 2 lines “I think I might have fallen in love, what am I to do?” For me them words describe the entire song in a nutshell.

According to the ESA, the first time it was seen was in 239 BC. In 1705, Edmond Halley wrote a book in which he said the comets that came in 1531, in 1607 and in 1682 were actually the same comet, and he also said the same comet will return in 1758-1759. The comet cames in december 1758. (But E. Halley died in 1742)
Next time Halley's comet will comes will be in 2061.
