Sharon, what is the purpose of a junk journal? I love the look of them, I think they look awesome! Haven’t ever done one because when I looked at some tutorials, they were all different. Some looked like you could write in them and some just looked like it was a collection of different medias put together more like art with no writing space. So… is it up to the person that does them? Is the point to use them for journaling? Art? Collection? Do they sell them? I’m by no means making fun or criticizing by no means… I really am trying to understand to see if I’d like to try. I think it would be awesome to see yours!! They look great and so interesting. I hope to see them soon.
Hi Cindy, there are loads of junk journal videos on CZcams. I didn’t get it either, but after watching videos, it’s become a favorite way to create. 💕

Yes very conflicting tutorials. There are some that say an a junk journal is not an art journal, a glue book is not a junk journal, a smash book is not a glue book. Who really cares?! You make what you want, the way you want to and use it however you want. I make personal junk journals, I use old papers and cardboard, anything really and draw, paint, journal, collage, collect, glue in it however I want. I usually have two or three ready so I don’t have to wait for the page to dry before working on the next page.
Give it a go, you’ll probably love it!
I think junk journals are intended to be "journals" to write in. Art journals are intended to be art practice or creation. Mixed media can be used in either. I love making junk journals, art journals not so much. No matter how I tried, I still cant figure out what a glue book is. Lol!
Yes, I know what you mean. They look beautiful and creative, but I struggle to understand them. I think my brain is more practical. My attempts usually evolve into more of a 'storage ' book for various collections of ephemera or other items like pieces of fabric. The tray in this video reminds me of junk journal page that's been pulled out for display. I can wrap my head around that one for sure.

Girrrrrrrrl you had me for a few on that first piece, I was like what in the heck is she doing when you started "grunging" it up.....😆but ended up really loving it! To your comment on paper crafting that it's not "home decor" you could do several like that, as well as add in some similar smalls & do a gallery wall with them. So yes it can be home decor. BTW enjoyed all of these projects you truly think outside of the box & come up with very original ideas (even if you say it's not original your putting your spin on it). And as everyone stated that briefcase is gorgeous!!!!

Sharon I love how you explain it all even when you have to redo something or realize you hadn't sealed etc. Your channel is real so I appreciate that. I love to do junk journals as well and making over items. Yes JJ does make great home decor I think. Loved the door plate piece. You justify my need to keep collecting misc pieces 😂. But that case!! ❤❤❤. I've yet to do a paint inlay.. I will some day .😅 thanks again for a great video.

On the cutting board with the handle flowers which is so cute. You could wrap some leather string around the top of the bottle and have it hang down. Maybe use a dark bead at the top and let some tails hang down.

Omg a screw!!! You're a genius! Lol! I've had knobs like those for years, & had seen the art flowers made W them, but I didn't fully trust glue either so I just never thought about how to fasten it to wood, lol! Duhhh! Love the paint underneath! Maybe old lace or wrapped copper around the neck of the bottle?! Love it wither way!

Loved all of these, my favs are the door knob plate on wood (1st one), and the briefcase (so gorgeous!). As to papercrafts not being home decor, i disagree, home decor is whatever one wants to decorate with. I love papercraft mixed media, but never know how to use it as decor so you've given me some ideas. Thanks! Love your style!

If you want more decoupage paper and can't really spend the 40+ and shipping to get all the books and releases they come out with every few months you see creators use.... You can order rice paper online (Temu has the same sellers as Amazon & same exact products, it just takes 8-10 days to get rather than overnight), set your printer to legal size paper bc it's longer than regular paper, and print. I spray mine W hairspray, just because I don't have waterproof ink and it absolutely helps the ink not run when you hit W decoupage glue or mod podge. Rice paper is super thin and works just like the decoupage paper bc a lot of those are rice paper.
I just like finding ways that are not only more affordable, but also are not one use products. Hope this helps
