Compare the Quran to the Bible. I guarantee your perspective will change. Bible was true once upon a time before being changed after Jesus, in nicea not even by his deciples. Quran is actually what jesus taught. It brings people back to the original godly and prophet scriptures. Read it first youll see what i mean, don't just comment on it.

I lost also my family, I carry the same burden, I always asked myself why other non-muslim women were loved by their family for just who they're, were treated respectful while I had to endure so much abuse by my community, mostly physically and emotionally, I couldn't stand the abuse and deciding to work towards a future where I could be self-sufficient. I shared my views a week before my graduation and they abused me till the day of my graduation when they thrown me out on the streets. first year was hard, because I lhad to live for a while in a women shelter, but I'm now in my own home, living my life. I'm now glad that they disowned me. otherwise the chain of abuse would have never be broken, disowning me, was actually setting me free. Just study the religion again, start the Quran over etc you will love it wallahi... now I love praying, I love hearing myself recite the Quran(I have my lazy days where I don’t pick up the Quran but when I do I love to read it I’ll sit and read it for atleast 2 hours) I hope we do a better job with actually teaching our baby’s to love Islam instead of forcing on them. Our parents think that Allah is happy with them forcing the religion on us but in all honestly Allah would rather us to learn and love the religion than forcing it upon people. The fastest growing religion right now is no religion..... Though I am a Christian, Christianity is not a religion but an encounter, relationship. Jesus is a role model a man any body want to be, who am I not to follows his kind of life styles... Forgive your enemy and pray for them, bless them, if any body ask you for a coat give him cloth as well.

Thank you for your vulnerability and sharing your story, Noor. I can already see here in the comments all the people you've been able to affect and I commend you on your courage to be honest with the world. Your story spoke to me; my experience with Catholicism wasn't healthy either and I left the religion as well. I'm so sorry that you experienced the trauma you have. I'm sending my love and empathy to you.
On a secondary note, I appreciate the commentary around how one's experience does not mean to slander or comment on an entire community or religion. Although I haven't had a positive experience with the Catholic Church, I recognize that many people have found community and love from the religion. That's incredibly mature of you to add to it, especially despite all the trauma. Thank you.

With strict rules, and lots of them, like in islam, the religion makes you feel bad, because nobody can follow all the rules expected from you, just because of the fact that there are so many. And the more rules you have within a religion, the worse it makes a person feel. The focus on adapting to rules and rules, and rules, is wrong because its impossible and it doesnt make you "enough" of anything- always. When religion makes you feel bad, its time to rethink your believes, truly. Do not do it, its your life!!!!!!! You did well, and You are more than enough, believe me :)

People convert to Islam for many, many, many good reasons:
    - The Qur'an has been perfectly preserved for 1400 years. And that is a miracle of Allah! I mean, the 37 versions of the Qur'an have all been perfectly preserved. Well, no. They have not been perfectly preserved at all, obviously.
    - The scientific miracles of the Qur'an, like that the Earth is flat (how could simple mortals have known that 1400 years ago!? Impossible!!); or that, during the night, the Sun travels and prostrates under the throne of Allah and asks Allah permission to raise from the East in the morning.
    - Jesus is not divine (even though He is divine even according to the Qur'an), because in tbe Bible, which is completely corrupted (even though the Quran says the opposite), Jesus never said, "I am God: worship me", and consequently Islam is true.
    - That Islam is Peace and that is why Islam asks to wage war against non believers, and demands capital punishment for people who leave Islam, or who do not like Islam or Mohammed, or are gay, etc, etc, etc, etc.
    - That Mohammed was the most beautiful and most perfect human being ever, and he did not commit any sin, even though he violated multiple times every one of the 10 Commandments that God gave to Moses.
    - That, if you are a man, in jannah you will have 72 women for you to do as you please. Who these women are or where they come from is not entirely clear. But who cares as long as they have big boobs?
    - That, if you are a woman, in jannah you will share your man with 72 other women, and that is clearly a mercy of Allah!
    - That Islam is very much like Christianity, with just very small differences, for example that Muslims are not required to follow any of the 10 Commandments and that they are expected to do exactly the opposite of what Jesus taught and did.
As we can see, there are many, many, many good reasons why people convert to Islam.

      Why this injustice towards women,

What I found out during the years is that things in life we didn't get from up bringing are our challenges in life and when we manage to overcome them, that is our most succesful personal achievement in life we can and have to be proud of coz we did it on our own.

It is definitely sad that our parents value culture over religion .. we grow up thinking Allah is not merciful and how Islam in general is very strict religion who doesn’t value life..
so many kids after being adults leave Islam just for that reason. I grew up more of cultural and can relate to u. In college I found the true Islam and fell in love with how it def is way life and how culture can be so toxic and give Islam a bad name . I am mother now and trust me I don’t force my kids for hijab or salah becuase one we have to be the example and two before puberty they aren’t held accountable so we have several years to teach them why Islam says what it says and it’s their choice . My girls love Islam because again the way I am showing them which is true way . Now if I turn the table and remind them they going to hell for this and that then Ofcourse they will hate themselves, they will hate their faith and everything related to! I pray for u and pray u see the truth ! Often parents forget they also will be responsible for the children’s trauma!! Praying for ur healing!

Thank you for understanding that I am not trying to speak badly about anyone or anything, I am just sharing what my experience was, because people should understand that if they come from a place of hate and fear, it will lead people away from them. Like the quote says, "you attract more bees with honey", and with that same mentality, if you come from a place of love and acceptance, people are more likely to at least listen to what you have to say.

Indian, Pakistani, Shia, Canada, America etc. you lost your identity. You firstly need to focus on yourself and who you are and what you want in life, control the anger inside you... Too strict is bad yet too loose is harmful. Stay strong and relax it will be ok with you and stay in touch with your family. They are the best support.
