  • We are going to show you how we keep our knives razor sharp in under a minute per knife. We have all seen the whetstone knife sharpening videos out there and while that is great, we wanted a way to get sharp knives but fast!
We use the Work Sharp Ken Onion Edition knife sharpener. It works great, includes an angle guide and will get all your knives, even serated ones sharp in no time.
Just place the belt you want based on how dull your knife is. Then drag the knife over the angle guide. 2-4 passes per side are enough. in under a minute your knife will be sharp and ready to use!

Thanks, can you use this tool on lawn mower blades?

Yes you can! I haven't done it before, but this tool can be configured to sharpen mower blades.

any reason for waiting till the knife is halfway through the slot before starting the sanding belt?

Hi John! Definitely no need to do it like that, but the instructions ask to place the blade in the guide before engaging the power. I probably could tighten up my technique 😁.

@@alwaysbelearning5655 thanks for sharing your video. I agree that no-fuss sharpening is the way to go for most people. I have an older worksharp model without the adjustable angle head so I use a 30” belt sander for knives where I want smaller or larger included angles. As you noted, you’re removing more metal with the coarser belts but once you get the angle established, the finer grade belts are mostly re-polishing what you’ve established. I have a second 30” sander set up with a leather strop belt. A little polishing compound on the belt quickly finishes the edge to “0 drag through paper” which, by the way, is still the standard sharpness test in knife factories. Consider adding this test ‘before and after’ in an upcoming video. Regards, john wilson
