in lane she wasnt even a champion pre 6 pre-rework honestly she had no way to engage.

Its a good rework overall. If they want her to be more viable in the jungle without making her OP in solo lanes just give her passive bonus damage versus jungle monsters.

Long story short, they created a tank who's damage skills scale with health and also with a teleport in his R. Final result, a tank assassin great for teamfights. Nerfed both his damage and R, now is useless.

literally my first impressions about Diana after a few games where: switch her E and R
the rework is exactly what I wanted, but I preferred her as a burst assassin then an AP bruiser
Get electrocute then build Zhonyas into protobelt
If still works get ardent if not rush a rabbadon she has enough damage to run that build to oneshot Squishies plus extra mobility cdr and the HP from protobelt actually increases her shield plus the best defense active in game for those fat ults.
If Ardent doesn't work just be careful not to run oom because you are expending all in damage and survivability.

Try electrocute, I usually rush protobelt, then rabadon and zhonya. For secondary I like resolve. But this isnt good for sustain matchups, Im using this if im gonna tilt Katarina, Zed or some champions that use to be agressive in lane.
Or go the suntail build, nashors, rabadons, void with boots somehere and zhonyas or banshees before void if you need it

It's nice when they expect you to win as an immobile ADC against Akali, Vlad or Fizz. Yes, we need click them to do actual damage. Yes, it'll take at least 1 second to kill them. Yes, they kill us in half the time. At least Fizz and Akali have dodgeable skillshots
Akali is one of my mains that I play in D1. The ADC is either really easy to kill or just impossible because it’s Kaisa with E R and a fking zhonyas and thresh. Or maybe it’s the Xayah with PD that just insta clicks R and has stopwatch from her runes. It can go either way but as an assassin it feels dumb that can go either way.

Thats not entirely true. Diana's rework was announced at a time when Wukong was played in the LCS and while I am not a wukong main, I havent heard of a wukong update till it showed on pbe last year, and its arguably just as small a change as Diana, since both are/were okay-ish, but other champions did the same thing better cause their unqiue thing was weak.

@@damian4926 yeah but Wukong's rework was up for a lot of patches in pbe after the announcement but Diana's was just suddenly put up in pbe then went to live in just a patch, not unlike Wukong. That's what they meant by "out of nowhere"

As far as small changes go, I got one for rumble.
Let his W shield pass through minions when active and increase the speed boost duration by an extra second. When chasing down someone with his Q, unit collision can make rumble easily turn around and skimp some of the damage.

Hi Exil! Nice video, it's really interesting seeing the evolution of champions throughout LoL' history.
I'd really like to see you make a video about Karma, she was the first champion Riot relaunched and it's also a rework they admitted didn't hit the mark. She lost her identity as the "Fan mage" and also the concept of duality on her skills but now she is also completely different lore-wise to who she was when she was launched; she went from being a wise, enlightened woman to now being the latest reincarnation of an ancient Ionian soul.
Awesome video! As a long time Diana main, I think they NAILED IT! She finally feels like how she was supposed to be played. (I abused the aftershock bruiser build for very long because it fit so much better than one-shot diana)

When it comes to champions that would really benefit from a small change - Amumu. Just put his W on his passive and give him some real ability on his W.
Ideally some cc or shield (like, "using abilities on enemies stack bandages on them, Amumu can retract them and shield himself for % missing hp).
Amumu, just as Malphite, needs to have at least one shit ability to compensate his insane ultimate.

@@machduel Nah, he's fine. He'd be super weak if you could only play him mid, as he's easy to punish with other mages and ranged characters. It's Top Lane's dumpsterfire state that makes him stupid, as he can free win a ton of melee bruiser matchups there simply because Riot doesn't balance that lane.
Lol, who even plays anything but ADC/Mage top? Why play the tanky/bruiser lane as a tanky bruiser, when you can cheese and ez win.

I'm a Diana main as well, and I'm all for this change. She needed something done desperately. I do miss being a one-shot machine, but I just have to change my thoughts about what kind of champion she is now. She's also viable before 6 now, which is one hell of a breather.

I feel like swapping Akali's shroud to her ultimate might make it easier to balance around, but her ult as it is now feels like it wouldn't work as a basic ability.
Riot won't be prepared for the whining that akali mains will do. They still think she is trash right now and needs buffs.
Akali is really hard to balanced the problem is that if you don't know to play her your are kinda trash but magically still do some damage, and if you main her well it's slippery af, they should do something like low damage ealry so you become op only if you can play well but at the same time don't make her too weak early, something like yasuo, you know to.play him you are op, you can't play well you just feed and take flame :))
I'm not sure. Having two dashes as a base skill might make her even more slippery.
At least Diana has to have a target to dash.
Just nerf Akali's safety since that is the only way we can get her at this point

Exil, I just wanted to make you aware that I myself, and I'm sure a lot of others in this community, really appreciate what you do. There really are some times when I sit down and look at my CZcams suggested videos and just see nothing but highlight reels, Challenger players smurfing to look cool, or content I don't even care about. It's always nice to see that you've made a new video essay; I can kick back with a plate of food and dedicate upwards of 15 minutes to just learning something new and genuinely interesting about League of Legends.
In short, I just want to thank you for finding this beautiful niche in the content creation community, and urge you to keep being your best self. I know I'll be supporting you the whole way.
Constructive criticism:
Maybe this video is following the exact formula as your other docu-champ videos, but this one feels different. It sounds less relaxed compared to your other videos of this genre - like video length was something pressuring you during the monologue the whole time. It also started to sound like a proguides video towards the end - like what to do and what not to do on a champ rather than _this is the champ’s beginning, and this is their current state (end)._
I would have liked to have learned more about her buffs/nerfs, maybe gotten more detail about her role in the meta, and how different indirect nerfs and buffs affected those events. I understand that explaining those things too much equals more time and a potential lose of your viewer’s interest, however, when I tap on these videos, that’s honestly what I’m here for. I expect knowledgeable deep dives from your content because you have the ability to make me believe you’ve done the research.
You still did well, and I still watched the video all the way through, but I think if you really care about always improving your videos, you can appreciate this comment.

Would very much agree with you there, mate.
New video idea: Xayah and Rakan and how they're impossible to balance. I know they're not very old champions (Released April 2017) But it's also 2 champions in one. The duo has been such a nightmare for Riot to balance. Either Rakan is too strong in competitive, or he's too weak. Either Xayah is too weak, or when she's meta, the synergy between Xayah/Rakan forces the opponent to either ban Rakan (Wasting a ban essentially) or let the opponent get the strongest botlane in the game. The fact that these two champs synergize so well is what makes them hell to balance. Cause even when both are 100% balanced on their own, the synergy between them takes over competitive League.
The problem also is, if either of them are too strong, then they can make other combo's op, e.g. rakan and twitch, xayah and leona, if they get nerfed too much, then they can only play with each other or if only one gets nerfed, simply replace that one with someone better.
The only thing I think its absurd with these two is that they have better skills when they are together, I get that they are lovers but Riot doesnt respect the lore at all with the gameplay

Dude, banning Rakan/Xayah so enemy doesnt get the X&R combo, is not a wasted ban.

Banning good, op, viable champions AND MOST importantly, the team comps.
@@dr_birb When I say it wastes a ban, I mean that picking Xayah forces the enemy to ban Rakan, wasiting one of their bans. It essentially lets blue team have 5 bans while red team has 4 bans

other champions that could see this treatment? you mean: give them more mobility? yes, all of them except for the new and reworked ones.
shen for example should have a dash similar to renekton. first one taunts and if he hits it he gets a second activation that executes cc-ed enemies.
shivana should stop turning into a dragon on ult but rather on E. also it should just have a 7 second cooldown on max rank but be decreased with attackspeed, ad or ap.
jinx should trigger her passive on minion kills and assists too.
tristana jump should be way faster.
ezreal could need another jump on one of his abilities, maybe ultimate? you jump then shoot your ultimate into a certain direction?
nasus should fuse E and W, so that the more points he puts into E the bigger the AoE effect becomes and deals more dmg while the more points he puts in W the stronger the slow. also uncleansable and if he moves toward a target affected by wither he should be un-cc- able and get a movementspeed buff of 100.
darius is now ranged.
draven replaes his movespeed on W with a teleport, which, when he uses it, makes it so his axes land at his place instead of wherever they were going before (about a 3-4 second cooldown max rank)
lux should travel at the speed of light
leona should have a blink ability on her Q (like old Talon E) and her e should be an execute for ranged champions.
thresh should be able to see invisible champions at all times and if he uses his E it uses its normal hitbox for visible champs but a global hitbox for invisible champions. also his ultimate spanws smaller boxes around invisible champions and if he hooks a visible champion all invisible champions get hooked aswell. by activating his Q again he pulls himself and all invisible champions to the visible champion. the invisible champions get a 10 second stun and super silence (not even tryndamere ult works)
tryndamere. Q is now a spin like E but it heals him (no longer uses his rage but buffs it) and his W is a stun if the enemy faces him and an execute if not.
just some ideas for future reworks.

I'd love to see my main get this rework treatment. Swapping Trynd's ult and his W should be quite the fix he's needed.
r on w seems fun. His w would be an unsatisfying r tho.
Give trynd a tp on r that can not be used nearby allys (you must tp far away from em), and making him unable to use normal tp as a summoner. So he has to splitpush all day long and kill guys with ignite and r at lvl 1.

IMO I don’t think that Kindred would have such a great video. Not a lot has happened with them over the years: early on they had a passive rework and a few small balance changes here and there, only to be overshadowed into irrelevancy by the new champs on the block. There. I just gave Kindred’s entire history in one paragraph. I could talk about Kindred’d design ideas too, but there isn’t a lot to tell there either.

The dash was on R for a reason. Now she has zero to no counterplay.
Post-Rework Passive/W, Lunar Rush AP scalings and flat damage all down compared to the Old, her ult consists of a solid chunk of her damage now.
That ult has a 1 second delay on its damage, you can flash/dash/just walk away or just burst her/cc her in that time to avoid it and she loses noticeable damage on her combo.
Even if you fail to dodge the new ult, the delay on the damage means you now have time to respond (exhaust/heal/Zhonyas) whereas before the rework if you didn't dodge the Q, you were instantly dead in less than a second.
That's the counterplay.
@@evanswindells5519 in theory you can avoid the R dmg, in reality you cant. It doesnt feel lile you can even flash so easy out of it because its still huge and when you do she just uses her secound jump, pretty simple to hit the R if you ask me

Sure, you can flash, but you have to wait until after her R pulls you back in, and then flash, but even then she’ll just e to you again. you can’t get away from her. If you Zhonyas, boom, their whole team is on top of you because the rest of your team just died.
I suppose the only reason people say she has no counter play in her current state is because her ult slows for so much and also deals so much damage at the same time. Maybe they can remove the slow and reduce the scaling of the ult.
Edit: Maybe also amp the mana cost of E, make it so her reset is not a free dash to you when you get hit by a Q, it just resets the cooldown of the E instantly. That way she can be punished by just run and gunning all the time
There is no such thing as Diana bruiser. She is a hybrid of a few things assassin, mage, bruiser. While her pseudo bruiser build is good against most assassins she can't do shit against real bruisers Renekton, Jax, Fiora, Irelia, the goes on. or even some other pseudo bruisers like Yas and Akali. She can't do shit against tome juggernauts or whatever they are Darius and Morde either. You simply can out sustain and out damage her, but hey there is no counterplay, pal.

Thanks for the great video as always. I really enjoy this series of content that you are making. Although I can't really call myself a Katarina main it's a champion that I really enjoy a lot and I have realised that she is more like a blinking canon minion. I don't know if it is only me, but I do feel a lot less afraid facing her now than I did with the old one. I don't know if I haven't played against good ones or only faced bad ones so far, but I do feel as if there is a bit more counterplay. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I, for one, feel they did a good job in the change on Diana.
Back to my comment about Kat being a blinking canon, although I do find quite a bit of success with her, I just feel that her Shunpo cooldown on reset is just too long in the early levels. You have a 3.5sec cd upon picking up a dagger at lvl 1 when everyone else with dashes or blinks has instant resets or, in Zed's case, can damage from afar. I know i need to git gud, so I don't need those comments (for the rest), I was just wondering, would reducing her E's cd with 1.5-2s break her? I mean, Irelia can dash around like mad granted the unit dies, Yas has a 0.5s cd on his E, LB can instantly return to where she came from and you have Sylas and new Akali with an arsenal of movement abilities. I would love to see her viable in competitive play, and this is this nub's personal opinion on a possible change to make her at least seem possible for it. I think all she needs is a playable laning phase, not being too reliant on jungle intervention. I would like positive critics please. I want to learn

Diana is actually super broken right now.
I mean, would you stack 5 man vs a malphite ? no, then don't vs diana. Her laning phase is good but she lacks damage. She lost her one shot potential if not massively fed, and can't deal vs solid meta bruisers. Rn she just have the same thing as every reworked champs, ppl think she's broken because they're clueless on what to do vs those champs.
What he said. Also, she now has no cc apart from her ult, which is more of a "gotta go in" thing than actually relevant cc. She's just damage, and she does less of that than she used to.

Her laning phase is rediculous since her q is basically undodgeable meaning free harass and if she lanes it she can hit you a insane burst combo plus conqueror sustain damage. Just poke anyone until theyre low in the mid lane and then oneshot them. Your q and e have massive range, you guys must be bronze or havent played the rework yet.

As a Karthus main I really would like Karthus w to be removed and making it passively give qs free Rylais effect.
I think if it gets that way of a passive (like e.g every 5th q slow, scaling up to every 3rd), they could really give karthus his r pre 6, with smaller dmg on w spell.
The r would then be awesome as a spell amplifier, to
q) give atomar q dmg 4 like 3 seconds.
w) being old r with the normal r dmg
e) slowing and healing due to dmg dealt

A change that I think could be possible and change everything on Ryze is that Bonus Danage that procs from EQ needs to Scale by Q levels, not R levels that is actually now, so it can be an actual champion on soloQ even without his shields.
I remember going for Diana when I started back in season 3 when the designers admitted she was inspired by the show Claymore, which I loved at the time. I always had fun with her when I picked her but it usually only felt good when I picked her into champs that wanted to go in like Fizz or Talon, that way her lack of mobility didnt feel so bad.
I hope the rework pans out, moon friend deserves it.

I've been playing jungle Diana with Electrocute, and aside from the pretty slow early clear, mid to late game is pretty good going chilling smite into Lich bane and deathcap.

at this point given how many problems riot have with his movility just nerf his damage give his Q a root and make him a jungler that can ignore walls and counter magic damage but struggles to deal enough damage himself

Teemo E and R switch would be...interesting. They'd have to add in something more to the E to make it more of an ultimate, like decreased healing, a slow... or maybe have it be a passive where it instead just augmented your other abilities with more virulent poisons. It makes your Q deadlier, your traps stronger, adds in the poison damage to auto's. It would certainly be interesting to play around with.
