Agreed. I used to like Hrgovic, and he's a pretty solid boxer, but that's it. Not a champion. He has little to no variety, no head movement, and wasn't making adjustments. He just relies on repetition to get the job done. That's not champion material. Too lazy from what I can see. With that said, he can still serve as a pretty solid gatekeeper.

Dubois is better and more skilled, and i agree Hrga thought he would be the one with stronger jaw and in later rounds would catch DD and maybe KO him. But, Hrgovic didn't got right the lesson; Dubois took a knee in Usyk fight. And Usyk is the best boxer p4p and he's probably (still!) better than Beterbiev. So... bad example for prefight tactics, for sure.

This is a spot on assessment, I’m Croatian and obviously wanted Hrgovic to win, but he simply wasn’t Good enough. Maybe won’t be good enough for good after that poor performance. You can’t be a champion and gas out after 4 rnds wtf? Dubois is a decent fighter, not a great fighter but Filip couldn’t get past him. It’s make or break for Hrgovic. Either completely reinvent yourself and how you fight or unfortunately I think his career will be over. Or at best a mid level stepping stone fighter.
