Appropriate. Here home in Sierra Leone, the floods, weather changes are some of our experiences. Locally, the challenge is, replanting our growing disappearing forests, sand mining, banking of areas below sea levels to construct much needed homes for slum dwellers. In order to effectively halt the effects of these activities on our geographical landscape, we must look at the root cause: Poverty!
People cut down trees to sell as an income generating activity, yet much more trees are cut down by our Asian businessmen, exporting hundreds of thousands of trees, that take a decades or more to grow ; and, they are not being replaced.
Burning of coal, tress to be used as carburant, all add pressure on our forests.
Today, our peninsular hills are corrugated zinc cities, only adding to an increase in temperature.
Global efforts to halt climate change, also calls for localized steps to prevent it, such as the call to reduce Green House Emissions .

Climate change is critical issue that need to be addressed. its effects need to be mitigated in developed and so called none developed countries .
