Opening Convocation Guest Speaker Madison Echols 2024

The opening convocation ceremony kick starts the beginning of each school year at MSMS. Madison Echols, class of 2023 alumna, welcomed our juniors and seniors into the 2024-2025 academic year.
Madison Echols Biography:
Madison Echols is a rising sophomore at Harvard University and an MSMS alumna of the Class of 2023. At Harvard, she is currently studying applied mathematics with a focus in sociology, hoping to become a biostatistician. She keeps her Mississippi roots in mind through her passion for the intersections between population sciences, social justice, and educational equity.
Over the past year, Madison has served as an educational outreach intern at the Boston-based anti-racism organization We Got Us. She is an ambassador of the Harvard Ed Portal, organizing outreach programs that serve local minority schools and communities. She has conducted research during the school year and summer through the Radcliffe Research Partnership and Emory University, promoting effective and rigorous methods for gender inclusion in biomedical research.
Madison is dedicated to providing equitable healthcare and educational opportunities for marginalized groups during her college career and beyond. She credits many of her passions and interests to the support and opportunities she gained during her time at MSMS.
