One Piece smile is very wide, it's impossible to do exactly same. Also when Roger delivered his iconic dialogue he was looking straight and smiling. So I understand if you don't like the vibe of Roger. They has to do some changes like in Roger's case he can't smile and deliver a long dialogue at the same time in a live action - it's impossible and it will look hella weird. So as you said it's better to keep the anime aside to enjoy. Some changes can be acceptable, some can't be. But anyway I like Rogers moustache, they nailed it.
