    Glad you got so many back Mark! Now they are really good at homing and thinking on their own after this experience. Whoever stole your chips can really be proud of himself! but at least they sent the birds on their way afterwards.

    I'm pleased to hear that most of the youngsters have returned. Obviously some went in somewhere they shouldn't have, so how they then got out and got home is strange, but hey ho. They are back. As for people cutting off the rings, that's despicable. (All those that have returned have learnt a good lesson).

    Man, glad most your birds got back. It’s true that birds normally go into other peoples loft to eat and drink. I’ve had random birds stop by my loft to eat and drink and take off before as well. I don’t like to keep other people’s bird, you just don’t know that background or pedigree of them, and if they get lost and come to your loft, they’re not good enough for me. But man it’s either a scandalous thing to do to keep your racing chips, or a small price to pay to let you know your birds were cared for before being released. But overall glad your team is back and strong. If I was you I would let them relax for a few days, then take them again.

      hi buddy, I had a bird once , that I lost twice, had to pick up from other lofts, but the 3rd time I sent her I got a 2nd place, so I tried get all my birds back if reported to me..

    • @redstarloft5211
      @redstarloft5211  Před 4 lety

      Im just happy most of them managed to find their way back but that they hopefully came out of the whole experience as better birds than they were when they went into it. Few more weeks and itll all be clear tho

    • @xiongguysloft9560
      @xiongguysloft9560 Před 4 lety

      Mancgrower wow, awesome. ‘I’ve had birds who repeatedly got lost and never came straight home and never improved. So to each his own, I’m glad your bird got second, It can happen to any bird 👍

    • @xiongguysloft9560
      @xiongguysloft9560 Před 4 lety

      Red Star Loft yeah, hopefullly it’s smooth sailing for your birds from now on, they should improve in the next 100mile toss again and come straight home. If not, then they’re picking up a bad habit and stopping at other lofts for some treats and drinks before coming home lol

    Sent some birds to a friend to fly in a money race in his club. Had a hen that won a race and was always early in the races. Two weeks before the money race she did not make it back from a training toss. The morning of the race she returned back at the loft in great condition. I was none to happy someone keep her locked up until race day.

    • @redstarloft5211
      @redstarloft5211  Před 4 lety

      Yea clearly someone had her locked up it shounds like. If my bird comes into somebody elses loft id much rather they just toss it out instead of taking care of it but then taking my racing chip

    How many years/months must you keep a new(adult)pigeon/s in your loft until you can take it for a toss

    • @scottchadwick6921
      @scottchadwick6921 Před 4 lety +1

      If they are not born at your loft they may not return back to your loft. Most breeding pigeons you buy are prisoners. And remained locked in the loft. If your breeders are ones you raised you can loft fly them. But still have a chance or losing them to Hawks or other prey.

      I got a 2017 cock bird 2 weeks ago . In the first week he mated with a hen I already had . 2nd week I accidentally let him out the loft with the hen .well guess what he flew with her follow her right back into the loft ( let them out the next day and he was the first one back in the loft .... So from my experience it all depends on the bird some gonna stay and some ain’t ....... I don’t like the life of a prisoner bird cause birds need to fly to be happy... “F a prisoner” pair ur bird up let them have eggs or chicks then open the door see what happens 😁

    • @scottchadwick6921
      @scottchadwick6921 Před 4 lety +1

      @@abcloft302 I had a hen trap in my loft. I flew her with my young birds. She stayed around for a month. And than she flew away back to her home loft I guess. If you want to keep him I would not fly him.

    Do any of ur homers tumble or do back flips while flying? One of mines is doing that wondering if mine is a cross breeding situation or do homers flip sometimes

    • @redstarloft5211
      @redstarloft5211  Před 4 lety

      No none of mine do that. If you have a bird that does that its most likely crossed with a roller

    • @abcloft302
      @abcloft302 Před 4 lety

      Wow it was sold to me as a homer but he def do all the crazy stuff in the air tumbles down and do single back flips

    • @niniksulikah8861
      @niniksulikah8861 Před 4 lety

      If it does single flips its crossed with a tumbler if ut rolls down an flips its crossed with a roller

    - Learned survival skills, they will need it for the hard races
    -The bands, it is the cost for some else taking care of your uninvited birds

      Hoping they came out of it stronger than when they went into it
