You unfortunately over-paid everything, I am both Sicilian and a US born Citizen, and you unfortunately where taken to all tourist fleecing places, and the Ape Taxi, is with no licence and âŹ80 an hour corresponds to the average salary of an Italian citizen (normal wage standard) for a whole working day before taxes and national pension and health contribution payments. On one of your rides, behind the Cathedral, you passed in a small street where there is a woderful restaurant which serves high-end fresh food and charges about $35 dollars per person with bottled wine of good quality and starter, first dish (usually a pasta with something) followed by a second dish (usually fish or meat with side) and dessert and coffee. Anyway, he took me with him to Sicily on 4 separate occasions during our relationship.

I have been to North, Central and South Italy but not Sicily. I have always heard negative stories about Sicily which prevented me from travelling but your video has opened me up tremendously. Of course there are videos of other bloggers to watch but like I have commented in your other videos yours is the best as it is very detailed and the information is interesting. I didn't know it's so beautiful, the people are lively and historical sites are stunning! The food is definitely different in taste I believe. I love Canolli đ too but I prefer the Arancini from Amalfi.
For one moment your face looked like a red " pomodoro" ,yes I can imagine the hot weather but I believe the summers in Colorado and in Malaysia / Asia is worse. As for the traffic um.... Visit cities like Jakarta , Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur then you let me know the comparison of traveling to Palermo ! Cheers ! Have a safe journey to Denver !đ

Thank you very much for this video. You did a good job on this. I also like very much you video on the Amalfi coast where you crossed over to Capri. Palermo has so much history. It was so poor in the nineties, controlled by the mafias and was later cleaned up. Now it's one of Italy 's striving cities again. I guess this is a must see city if one plans to visit Sicily.

Everything was pretty overpriced, my Palermo doesn't treat tourists well...
they took cafe in spinnato, in the center of the city, 90 cent is the price in other area of the city..
spinnato is the most pricey place in town, so, not surprised at all, especially if served at the table. which everywhere is charged a little bit more, but all around Palermo the coffee is very cheap.
Da spinnato costa 2 euro al tavolo, ma per tutti non solo per i turisti.

Omg! I literally just left there! I definitely agree with the traffic problems. My mom would refuse to drive, so my dad had to drive all the time.But, don't get me wrong, Sicily is an amazing place. Just make sure to wear LOTS of sunscreen or else you will get roasted alive.

Tabacchi shop: You may find in it tobacco and cigarettes, candies and chocolate bars, bus tickets, mobile phone credit recharges, lottery tickets, parking tickets etcetera BUT USUALLY NO DRINKS.
Nowadays with free market deregulation of merchandise genres you may find sometimes in Tobacco shops various kinds of snacks like potato chips and 1 or 2 fridges, one for ice-cream popsicles and one for sodas, but it is absolutely not usual!
In order to sell drinks to public a shop it should be Grocery Shop or a Bar. Preparations like served liquors, panini, cooked snacks like pizza al taglio, arancini and fresh pastries and coffee cups are allowed only in bars and pastry shops.
A grocery shop may make also panini for you.
Fish shops can sell only fish products as a hygiene mandatory rule, while butchers can now have grocery corner too for packed food like pasta, sugar, tuna cans, tomato sauce cans, oil bottles.
In the end Bread, fresh cooked pizza and fresh pastries are allowed together in Bakeries only.
It happens very easily that Bars have also Tabacchi corner, hence your misinterpretation.

@@gianfrancononnato9657 Glielo hanno messo in mezzo al pane perchĂ© sono degli stronzi dato che costa di piĂč e lui non sa come si mangiano normalmente (e gli hanno anche fatto il prezzo piĂč alto). A parte questo, gliele hanno servite quasi crude
