Making Laser Cut Patterns

  • How to make and/or obtain laser cut patterns. Easier than it sounds!
    You can either trace an item, then scan it to a file, or scan something from a book. I show how easy this is and will demonstrate the project cut on two different lasers.

    Thanks, Roger. I've tried Inkscape, but I prefer LightBurn, by far. That 40W laser is crazy fast! On my 10W laser, I cut 3mm plywood at 144mm/min. But as Ron Popeil used to say (for all us old folks), "Set it, and forget it!"

    Thanks Roger. Will have to look into that software.
    I Made a fishing sign yesterday. Came out really clean.
    And stained the wood with beetroot juice.

    Can you show how you did it step by step starting with the picture and running thru all the steps?

    You can just open the file in lightburn and trace the picture. NO need for inkscape of a simple drawing.
