Of the 195 countries that make up the world today, none is as big as Russia. Spanning over 5600 miles, from the small enclave of Kaliningrad in the west, to Big Diomede Island in the East, Russia encompasses 11 time zones and a total of 6,612,074 square miles. It is in fact so large, that the second biggest nation on earth, Canada, could fit within it’s borders over 1.7 times.
For well over 300 years, Russia in one form or another, has maintained its position as the worlds largest country and during the height of it’s territorial expanse, in the year 1866, stretched all the way from Poland to Alaska. However, just a few centuries earlier, a recognisable Russian state did not even exist. Amongst the patchwork of warring principalities and dukedoms that made up the region, emerged the first glimpses of a nation that through the ambitions and endeavours of Cossacks and Tsars alike, would rise to become largest nation on earth.
This is how Russia became the worlds biggest country.

      Bro, it's a joke.
He named the city, which meant he did it, which meant he wasn't dead, which means he clearly couldn't even have been saint when he did it (not that he was made into a saint).
Therefore, the joke is this: Russians are really religious, nobody wants to be seen as so vain that they name the most important city after their own self, and so he named it St. Petersburg because it both bore his name, but cloaked it in religious intention so no one could call him vain since he's doing it for God.
The history books say he did it for a certain reason, but most people's understanding of human nature suggests something else hence this joke.

The correct translation is actually Ivan the Awesome. Ivan never killed his son. There is a famous painting of his son bleeding in his arms but that painting is only of Ivan hitting his son. There is no evidence that the Tsar killed his own son. No one knows how he died. Also Ivan the Awesome was so awesome that he gave up his crown and went to a monastery but the court of Moscow went to him and BEGGED him to be Tsar again, if he was truly terrible I’m sure they wouldn’t have made the journey to beg him back as their overlord. In Ivan the “terrible”s reign, he only executed 3,000 people to death, in which timeline in France that many people were executed to death in a single day. In his own time he was truly a remarkable person and Tsar. History will not remember him kindly whatsoever. He took Siberia and made Russias prestige touch the sky

If only they wanted you to be gone, they would've achieved that easily. But they never were like you portray them. It was the westerners who always did similar things, on a much worse scale. And you blame the entire nationality for something you made up. Your intentions are clear as day, you are the one who seeks opportunity to cause damage. The reason why those cultures aren't widespread now, is because nobody like you is a prideful nationalist, it's much easier to speak the language which more people speak, and depend on the economy of a larger country that actually cares for you. They never asked you to make a decision for them. There are such cultures in so many countries, including the United States, and that's also why people overall keep talking in English. In Russia, those cultures can even study their own language in schools! Why did Ukraine ban so many languages? It is the most prideful nationalistic country that doesn't respect what was given to it, or even it's own citizens who want neutrality and preservation of history. It blames others for aggression, but is the only one who speaks out of clear hate.

RealLifeLore has made a VERY interesting video about Russia. He explains how there is a certain area of the earth that wraps around Earth like a giant band. Within this "band" is what is called the "Perfect Production Zone" where the climate within this band is so ideal in terms of things like temperature it makes makes it the best place in the world to grow agriculture. Now.. perfectly situation with this band sits America which explains a lot lol. Unfortunately for Russia only 1/4 of their country is within this band which is western Russia. Scientists have realized that due to global warming this band is going to drift north and which means that Canada and the MOST of Russia are going to be the ones within this band of "Perfect Production". This isn't just good news for Russia.. this will be a MIRACLE to Russia.
Now I'll explains why this is such an amazing miracle for Russia. Currently 75% of Russia is a frozen Tundra and befause of this it.makes almost impossible for Russia to take advantage of this large area. When this band eventually arrives over most of Russia it will heat up giving them a GODLY amount of land to grow immeasurable amounts of agriculture. Now I'll touch on the topic of natural resources.
When Russia eventually gets to take advantage of the land they also FINALLY get to take advantage of it natural resources. This massive area of Russia is thought to contain unbelievable amounts of natural resources which obviously make them EXTREMELY wealthy.untouched. There is also a GODLY amount oil they will be able to collect. And mind you...Russia ALREADY is one of the biggest suppliers of oil and that already the biggest supplier of oil to the rest of Europe.
Now, the military benefits to Russia. For most of Russia history their biggest handicap military has been a huge lack of to the seas for their Navy. This was because the only access they have to the Mediterranean is the black sea in the south of Russia BUT Ukraine take up nearly ALL of the black seas coastline leaving Russia with a small sliver. Not only that but In order for their Navy to reach the Mediterranean they first have to go the black sea and must pass through a tight bottleneck that cute through turkey which if one day becomes an enemy Turkey will shut the choke.poimt which denies Russia access to Mediterranean. What about it's northern coast. Russia actually has the largest coastline of any country in the world.. Unfortunately for Russia their north coastline is in the Arctic which leaves most of this coastline frozen for a long period of the year. When this coastline region heats up the ice will melt and not only do they now have an entire coastline and waters for their Navy to utilize, which means Russia will dominate the Arctic which concerns America, but they will then have pretty much full access to trade routes for Russia and china to utilize trade which makes it a MUCH shorter route to and from Russia or China.
Within warmer waters on their northern massive coastline means they can take advantage of fishing.f
All of this will mean that Russia will become a INSANELY WEALTHY country and will again make it massive super power. And with the "Perfect Production Zone" band drifting to north to Canada leaving America this will have to have a negative affect on America.

I understand this is what people did a long time ago, but we have already expanded to the four corners of the Earth.
Instead of fighting border wars or risking Civil War, I think it’s important for nations and countries to band together and build Cylinders in space.
Instead of Russia fighting a border war with Ukraine, they could literally revive their space program, propose building a cylinder for a New Russia, and invite Ukraine as a seat to the table.
Building a cylinder would require new industries, whether you go to the moon to build an initial ring, or just launch the hardware directly into space from the ground, it will require everyone to work together instead of fighting each other.
During World War II, countries were actually able to help their economy by helping to build what they needed.
    - because of the modern age and the industrial war machine complex, it doesn’t help the economies anymore, and in fact, it depletes them greatly.
    - What will help any economy is having common purpose. A common goal to build and allow them to expand.

It's not about ambition, but about creating buffer zones around the Russian border. England is protected by the strait, the USA is protected by the ocean, Russia has no protection. Therefore, Russia needs a buffer zone. when Ukraine was a neutral country (until 2014), Russia had no need for a buffer zone. But when the coup d’etat took place in Ukraine in 2014, Russia began to need a buffer zone. The need for a buffer zone is explained by NATO's approach to Russia's borders. Yes, we can argue as much as we like that NATO will or will not attack Russia. But Putin has no right to take risks; he acts based on a negative scenario. Moreover, everyone in the world knows that NATO is a group of criminals who attack small countries. Putin only protects his country and eliminates risks.

Crimea is Ukraine, Kyivan Rus is Ukraine. I don't understand why make "historical" videos about Russia, while lying a lot. The history of Russia began with the Moscow principality, which was a vassal of the Golden Horde (Mongol Empire) and was collecting tribute for the Mongols.
Appropriating someone else's story only gets you shame.
Novgorod, Kazan and Tver were NOT attached to Muscovy peacefully. Read about the massacre of Novgorod (Novgorodians could be a separate eastern slavic nation alike Ukrainians, Belarusians but were massacred by Muscovites) or the Siege of Kazan.
Also, it’s mentioned that the Vikings who founded Kyivan Rus were assimilated into the Eastern Slavic tribes, but it’s not mentioned that Romanov’s dynasty was actually very mixed with Germans. Catherine the Great was of German origin, and her son was most likely not the real son of the last real Russian tsar Peter III. The video doesn't even cover half of the wars started by Russia. Also about alliances and agreements with Lithuania, Ukraine, Poland, Turkey, etc., which Russia later betrayed. It also does not tell about the wars of Soviet Russia to capture the countries that were part of the union. and the division of Europe into spheres of influence between N@zi Germany and Soviet Russia is also kept silent.

Kyivan Rus was historically called Rus, I agree, but since russia tries to appropriate the history of Rus, the term “Kyivan Rus” makes more sense and makes people less confused. Moscow Principality wasn’t the only vassal, ofc, but they were. And thanks to the Mongols they started to be a regional power. when Kyiv was destroyed, the capital of Ruthenia (Rus) was transferred to Lviv, but eventually Kyiv started to be more important once again.
