'Ila Mata' is taken from Bab L' Bluz's debut album Nayda!, which is out now on Real World Records.
The lyrics are inspired by the Tunisian poet Anis Shoshan, and aim to awaken the sleeping consciousness of a majority of individuals, indoctrinated by racist statements considering some humans superior to others and condemning all the richness that the fact that we are different from each other can bring us. It is also a call to search for what can unite us instead of going towards everything that divides us.

From the bottom of my heart a salam (the salvation of the Muslims) full of peace for all my sisters and brothers regardless of their origins.
A fear that grew inside us
that has led us astray from the straight path
A disease that has affected everyone
and destroyed the earth with everything on it.
Our brains have become prisoners Allies to the herd owners
Humans are considered worthless
And our differences are now criminalized
Until when will ignorance rule?
How long will the injustice last ?
Until when we are forced to remain silent ?
Until when Violence will be glorified ?
Until when will injustice rule?
Till when ignorance will be glorified ?
Until when will the human remain despised ?
How long will violence triumph?
I have listened to many different types of music with different types of genres, by far I have not come across a song so mesmerizing as this piece of art.. Beautiful beautifull. The chorus oh it's something else. Love from a Somali diaspora in Ireland.
Hello Dear Somali diaspora; many years ago I had been invited by a Somali family to a little girl’s birthday party; that was the first time I had experienced the warmth of an African family…the apartment’s doors were just left open and around forty people kept on coming there; the little girl would call them all Uncle, or Auntie. The sound of Bab L' Bluz on this fine song is quite trance inducing and fills me with visions of the rocky & windy landscapes of North Africa. Real World has done such a great job finding and nurturing artists from around the world and this band continues in the fine tradition of distinctive artists on this label.
