I'm an American Sign Language interpreting major, and I trying to learn this. I think it's interesting how the ASL sign for "nice" is the same as the BSL sign for "H"
That's cool, my initial is H!
I remember some of that from school in England, late 70s. That was texting.
This video is really helpful to learn the alphabet in bsl sign language
thank you Maza!
I'll stick to ASL lol. Much less complicated. I have huge respect for those learning BSL
So crazy how different asl and bsl are. ASL uses just one hand for all letters, but BSL uses two. Must be annoying to sign while holding something. đ I assume there are shortcuts for one hand in bsl.
This looks more complicated than ASL, having to use both hands for each letter. But it's quite interesting to see.
Does it matter which hand you use for the action or are both understood?
This is really useful! Thanks!
I must learn it
Me too Iâm learning
Beautiful!
Thanks Joao!
Does it matter which hand i sign the letters with? For example, Y - does it need to be my right hand spread out?
Iâve learnt it I love it
well done!
@@Ihlondon thank you
Great â€â€
Thank you
You're welcome! Hope it is helpful :)
thank you, this helped me so muchh
you're welcome!
Cool
Taking a second language and my college offered ASL, so I just started with ASL 101 and man if you seen this shit, what is this? H is nice, half their alphabet requires your non dominant hand, w doesnât make sense (it doesnât look like it could be a w). Iâm preparing to transfer next year after I graduate to Northern Ireland and was going to try my hand (pun intended) at BSL, but not after seeing how different it is. I thought there would be a some minor differences, but not this. Guess Iâll settle for Gaelic.
I'm autistic with selective mutism and considering sign language to help me when I'm non-verbal, but I have a lot of hand stims so I'm worried I'd have to hold them in if there was a risk of them being misinterpreted as sign language. How can I use sign language and still stim freely without people thinking I'm signing?
"Looks tougher to learn, what is a person who is death supposed to do if he or she only has 1 arm when it comes to BLS?
If they're death it's not usually an issue.
You mean deaf, which is a different matter entirely.
Should be from a topdown view, love. This isn't clear at all.
Sunt semne neutilizabile is vechi
This is why the Americans won the Revolutionary War.
ASL is beautiful. BSL is ugly.
man that is one goofy alphabet
how-
Outside of the BANZSL family, most sign language alphabets are single-handed.
