Is the Mexican Bush sage easy to grow on clay soil? Where can I get them?
If the soil is really heavy clay then you should amend it with some garden gypsum and GroPower first. Then plant the Mexican Bush Sage. There is a link to buy some in the comment section of the video.
What’s up with all the weird sound effects? It detracts from the video..
I agree. This video was from my first year on CZcams and that is a common complaint. I have really dialed back the music and sound effects this year.

What, no Salvia Amistad? That’s the big wazoo in my garden. Grows well, looks good, attracts bees, hummingbirds and hummingbird moths more than any other plant. The only problem is it’s an annual here. That’s ok, it’s worth it to buy new every year.
I like Salvia black & blue but bugs like the leaves better than I do. Don’t have that problem with purple salvia amistad.
I love Salvia amistad also, I wish it was sold here more

For people in the northeast - pineapple sage doesn’t bloom until after hummingbirds have migrated, unfortunately

Annual salvias:
Amistad
Deep Purple
Rockin Fuschia
Black and Blue
Victoria blue bedder (and white, too)
Best perennial salvia for me is Blue Hill.
Didn’t have luck with white perennial salvia.
This year I think I’ll try perennial salvia Rose Marvel
Annual Salvia Hot Lips was kind of
messy-bushy in my garden, more foliage than flowers but I think my soil was too rich.
For us in the Pacific Northwest -- at least where I live, just south of Portland -- as soon as it just gets into blooming, we are hit by hard frost. I've had mine for several years, and it's just so frustrating. I will keep it cut down, this year.
