    Whenever I'm waiting in an airport, it amazes me that I'm the only person looking out the windows to see what the ramp crews are up to. People seem to take this work for granted, but without it, nothing else could happen. I've always been fascinated by it.

    That time engines start is one of my absolute favorites in a flight. Those low frequency sounds and shaky vibrations tell me that "you're on a mighty machine".

      @@ramperryan if you ever see a ribbon tied to the bags or a cloth, it is something in south Asian culture called kapra shapra which is used to identify who the bag belongs to or to be a luck saver for the journey of the bags to make sure they never get lost or damaged

    Awesome video You and Your crew is very well organized, currently Im in the same line of work here in The USA now been doing it for 22 years and I have to say your equipment and facilities are much more updated than our facilities. Nothing is really organized and equipment's are always breaking down flights are always delayed and everything bottom-line is unorganized from the airline itself.

    By our US standards, you broke SOOO many rules. The most important two being you were walking in-front of engines which were running several times, which you never do here, and you also moved way to close to the aircraft by our standards.

    I never understood why so many people hook up the tow bar without the tug. I know the bypass pin disconnects the controls but why take the chance. If it didn't work or more likely someone forgot to place the bypass pin you have pendulum of death

    Is there a huge cut/jump on the video? or the full turn around only really lasted about 30minutes? Just curious cause that was very fast.
    Also may I ask if you have a degree in aviation?

      Answering for him here, yes, 30 minutes is normal turnaround time, actually a little long, where i work all but the smaller Dash 8 & ATR-72 aircraft have a turnaround of 25 minutes, that goes for 319,320,321 & any 737 variants
      Though in some cases, for scheduling it can be longer and some of the charter routes might have a bit longer turnaround to facilitate fully loading the aircraft...

      Depends on a lot of things. I work 12hrs by choice and i may do a around 7-12 aircraft in that shift

      You dont need wing walkers. Just someone to do the road behind the aircraft.
      And it can happen anyway. Just tap take ages to turn on the APU

    Lucky lol we don't have vgds at my airport terminal. And the ground power is directly attached to the jetbridge. How many turns a day do you usually do?

      Yeah with us its fixed or GPU power. Maybe 7-12 aircraft a day. We have 3 airlines we serve

    Eventually ramp agents will become a thing of the past like aircraft Marshalling has in some places , the tasks are very repetitive and many people will eventually not want to do any of it the positions will be done by robotics and automatic loading and unloading conveyor belts.

      I doubt it will go fully automatic as robots still make mistakes so humans would need to be there just in-case.

      I doubt it massively. Passenger make every flight different and bring all sorts of issues and things to resolve. So youll always have us on the ramp and in the terminal

    As a groundhandler in copenhagen for SAS, please next time when you are disconnecting the GPU, hold the handle, not the cable.. We had accidents in copenhagen where the cable was US and people got power trough their body.. So never the cable but the handle..

      @@ramperryan The GPU switches off cuz of it has been taken off the A/C before being shutdown on the button OFF, and there can still be power in the cable.. Be careful also when in rainy weather..

      @@Wavepush i am the connection between the tug and the pilots. I also can see more than the tug can. Also i can speak straight to the pilots without the need of a frequency. Now to answer your question of why not have a radio. Ok how many channels would you need for all the aircraft pushing or waiting too. You cant have them all on the same one. As we pass other information too them aswell.

    I cross my fingers every month to avoid british airports. They have the best ATC in world but the slowest ramp workers.

      I think it's not racism, Muslims mostly are not very good workers, you always have problems and very closed mind. I worked with too many and all of them are very difficult to work with, they leave work and leave the team short-staffed and always some problem. It is you all who always allege racism, but your actions speak for the majority of you all.
