  • I do understand that if this is something you don't like or feel this is not right, then this could be very concerning. And if you are new to this hobby and a new DJI owner this could or may be challenging or overwhelming. I know for me it was challenging at first too.
    The way I see it is if you own a DJI drone having to do firmware updates is just part of owning one of these drones. The other thing is getting the firmware updates from DJI always means you've got the most up-to-date firmware for that drone out there. Most of the time the DJI firmware updates are good and well worth having. I guess for me I have had zero issues with updates after they have been installed.
    Hope it's helpful. Thanks for watching, be safe, fly safe, and have a great day!

    I agree, DJI’s quality assurance team needs to step up their game with regard to these firmware updates.

    I honestly don't mind frequent updates, it just proves that they are working on something....NOW with that being said they should implement a update schedule (every third Wednesday of the month.. example) which would be more "consistent"

      I agree, I don't mind the updates myself and having a schedule would be nice.
      For some people here lately especially if you're new to the hobby or the drone, I can see where this could be concerning. Thanks for the comment and be safe.

    This is normal business for DJI. I got the Mavic 3 and it went through similar issues at the beginning. These people sell products, and then they do the fixing as it goes.

    After the last update my first flight the RC told me it was disconnected. I shut everything down and restarted and that issue self resolved but then it told me it wanted the compass calibrated. That self resolved after another shut down cycle. So I hope this update resolves that. I will be flying on Sunday - So we'll see...

      Yes, and that is a good thing. DJI at least so far, has always been good about keeping things up to date and working correctly 👍. Thanks for the comment, be safe.

    As much as we pay for these things, and how cheap labor is where they are made, you have to wonder how they could release firmware that requires weekly updates. I must say, the first update in this series caused my RC 2 to boot extremely slow. What took about 10-13 seconds from pushing the button to seeing what the drone sees, now takes about 45 seconds. Something is freaking off in this new firmware. I updated again a week later, same slow boot up. I have not installed this weeks update and I don't think I will. I will wait another 2-weeks to see just what they messed up this time around. Until my controller gets back to being snappy, I am suspecting serious firmware issues.

      @dk4drones  Před měsícem

      I agree, I know my RC-2 controller and I have seen CZcams videos of others saying the same thing. It does seem to be slower on boot up, but compared to my RC it's still pretty fast if not faster.
      I guess I haven't seen any updates this week on the RC-2 or the RC controller unless I missed it. Still waiting for the app update 1.13.1 or whatever it'll be to come out and hopefully that'll fix some of these issues 😏. Thanks for the comment, much appreciated and be safe.

    You could always get the Cogito Specta Air. Except for the initial update after power up, I never saw another update.

      That's not good. One more reason I guess to buy the DJI drones. DJI has always been good about firmware updates. That's just one more thing you can appreciate about them. Thanks for the comment and be safe.

      Just kidding. A little sarcasm. I like my Specta, but not good support with accessories like batteries and updates like the Air 3, which it really is. Or isn't, or is?. Sent me back and bought the Air 3.

    never do updates when a newer drone off the same range line comes out !!! They use Planned obsolescence ! my phones i never do it !! Since i was getting them slow after the last updates off the lifetime off the phone !

      I think you are probably right on what you are saying. I just know that I have been updating my drones as the updates came out all the way back to the first DJI Mini. To be honest, I've never had an issue after the updates that I can remember, except one on my Mini 2 when the update would not install and locked the controller and drone. Had to get DJI involved to fix that mess. Thanks for the comment and be safe.

    I'd be frustrated, too if I was new to the Mini 4 Pro... lol I'm still on the 1.12.8 fly app and decided not to update to the 1.13.0 fly app... I'm just gonna wait until the new one comes out for the RC2 and update everything all at once... it may take a day or 2 to get it done from what I've heard... haha

    • @dk4drones
      @dk4drones  Před 2 měsíci

      You are being smart about the updates 🙂. I know if I was new to this hobby and an M4P, I to would be frustrated as well...🤥 Haha. Hear lately DJI in my humble option is not doing themselves any justice when it comes to firmware and app updates. The one thing a lot of us take for granted they (DJI) are messing up🤨. Thanks for the comment Kevin, God bless and be safe.

    I heard about another issue. With the previous firmware you could fly the mini 4 pro with the Plus battery. There was a warning only for EU regulations. But since the last firmware update, you can't get the mini 4 Pro in the air with the Plus battery. Is this true or not true?

    • @dk4drones
      @dk4drones  Před 2 měsíci

      To answer your question, I don't know. 🤔 As we know the EU has different rules and laws on drones and DJI had a 120m (393.8 ft) altitude restriction on the Mini drones over there and I believe has been changed. But I have not heard of anything on the Plus battery issue other than the warning message people were getting in the Fly app. I know here in the states if you use the Plus battery in the M4P it will broadcast Remote ID and then would need to be registered. Thanks for the comment and question, be safe!
