Whats the name of those speaker stands?
Monoprice - czcams.com/video/hoCtmlE4klk/video.html
Youthman i watched one of your videos about 4 months ago, it was your klipsch home theatre.. since then ive spent alot of money to upgrade my surround sound... thank you for showing me what real sound is
The heart used to be on the Polk logo back in the day. I have them on my Polk SDA-2B
Ah! Thanks for sharing. That’s too funny. Learn something new every day
Excellent! I've been attracted to The Polk Reserve 700's and the others in your comparison fell in line where I expected them to as your Great review Described.
Yes it's about time the reviewers give POLK AUDIO some luv, my living room Home Theater is all POLK AUDIO
Awesome! What speakers do you have now?
Mine is all Polk Audio also
I'm glad to see Polk stepping up their game from the mass market garbage of the last 20 years or so. I'm old enough to remember going into my local high end audio store as a teen and listening to the SRS series - right up there with the best of the time, made me save up enough to buy a pair of their bookshelf speakers, which a friend still has to this day.
I’m grateful too. The guys at Polk are the real deal. Passionate about great audio
I'm still rocking the Polk Audio RTiA9 and CSiA6 in my theater. Love them.
Looks just like them, I got the Rti system, no need to give away more cash.
Excellent video, as always Youthman. Great content and very informative. 👍🏾
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the video
Nice review Michael.
I have owned many Polks over the last 30+ years. Great speakers for the money.
Customer service is always great when you need it too.
Awesome Mark. Glad you enjoyed it
Okay, soo I WANT ALL OF THESE LOL
Thanks again man for another good review!
Thanks Adam. FYI, they are available today. 😀
Stoked for this after seeing the big tower is right at my budget.
They are a fun speaker.
Goodness... this is what a speaker review looks and sounds like.
Bra-freaking-vo! Keep it up...
Thank you for the kind words. Lots of reviews on the channel for you to enjoy.
You are so amazing . You respond to so many people’s questions. 👍
I do the best I can. Getting more difficult as the channel continues to grow but I will ALWAYS be extremely active with my community. I cannot answer every question in the comments which is why I have Patreon.
Hey Youthman. I learned about Polk Audio back in the 80's. Always seemed well respected. Own ADS 710 stereo speakers, then Paradigm 5 channel with twin subs, then in 2020 bought Polk RTIa 7s, RTIa 3s, F/XiA 6s, and a CS/iA center channel. All have very nice cabinets and paired with my Yamaha RX-A1000 and RX-A3080 receivers, tuned properly for the room, sound very nice. The RX-A1000 may have been strained a bit pushing 7 channels of low sensitivity drivers thus the need to upgrade my receiver. I might say that these Polks were at the end of their production, but seem to sound nice at a very reasonable price. Still love my early 80's ADS 710s, as well as my early Paradigms, but the Polks fit my needs at the time. Perhaps I will be able to audition side by side my next speakers. Reviews are great but nothing beats well set up A/B/C comparisons! Enjoy your review of these Polks.
Very nice video/launch. You covered the elegant side of these.. Epic presentation. :-)
Thank you Kanga. Glad you enjoyed it
@@Youthman ..Yea!! Nice factory inside look.. back clips. Good story telling and editing. Need some copyright free music and a sample of measurements to round it off.. but ya man.. You knocked this one out. Real nice for the SU crew and Polk to enjoy. :-)
@@keepingupwiththejones2933 ...Now, are we talkin Tree roots or carrots & potatoes? ... Personally, I sense a bit of Quest Love groove in Youthman's step. ;-)
I certainly appreciate the kind words Kanga. Glad you enjoyed it.
WOW 🤩 I DEFINITELY NEEDA UPGRADED NOW
Love the matte black, and why would someone thumbs down this???? Even if you're not a Polk fan, this is good content!
I appreciate it Robert. Honestly I was not a poke fan until I heard the legend series. Polk made a bold decision to make a high fidelity product. I think it’s great that they are using the exact tweeters and midrange drivers in the Reserve Series and have found a way to make it affordable.
@@Youthman Yeah I've always been a Polk guy. I plan on uploading about my home theater setup once the M-215 arrives
Im liking the white finish...tough call. I think I would have to try the bookshelves before i committed to floor standers with atmos..
Can't wait keep it up Youthman...👍
Thanks Eli.
I have learned lots of things from your FB and CZcams channel to improve my AV system to get lavel of audiophile. Love from 🇳🇵 Nepal
Really glad to hear that
Hey man I’m loving the vids and I just wanted to say great work bro 🤙🏻
Thank you kindly
"Sade: Bring Me Home" is another great live concert Blu-Ray if you're into dynamic music and female vocals.
Been running a 7.1.4 of rtia series for a few years now, definitely thinking about upgrading the front soundstage to this reserve series.
Polk Audio is Audiophile, Period. They even sound better than many more expensive speakers.
Speakers are very subjective. Just have to find what sound works best for you.
These are gorgeous. I’ve been a Polk audio fan for a long time. I’m running polks as my LCR. They sound phenomenal too
Awesome Victor. What models do you have?
@@Youthman I’m running the T30 center and the T50 towers. I just got the center last week. Blew me away. I haven’t had a front stage timbre matched. In over ten years. But now I see why it’s so important. The T30 really makes a difference in my theater set up. So glad I invested in it
@@victorjohnson8374 the T series is a really nice value for the money.
@@RemixerUltimate yes it is. I’m very happy with them.
Thanks for the video. Assuming your heard the L600's on your factory tour, how would you compare the sound to the R700's?
My 1986 model Polk SDA speakers still sound good. I just can't bear to part with them for newer speakers.
First premiere I’ve been privileged to watch....I mean, as it’s happening...sort of😁😁😁😁
Awesome! Glad you were able to make it. I did them periodically on my channel but not for every video
whooo, the White looks so good!
I was wondering what polk was going to replace their lsim line with after they discontinued it, and i was not expecting them to basically make smaller and more affordable versions of their legend line. This is honestly super interesting and has me now wondering if i should wait to replace my front left and right with one of these towers rather than getting the s60s. Im wondering how the r500 will do for movies considering they're considerably cheaper than the 700s and they dont have the 8inch drivers. Because those would match my price point a lot better.
All my fav audiophile guys are posting reviews on these reserves and im sold..i need some
Thank you for the kind words.
They should be available to buy on their website today.
nice handle! I like your priorities 🤣 did u check Sean's review @ Zero Fidelity? I've never seen him that excited over a speaker! I'm sold🍻
No I was up from 10pm till 10am making my video. Been a zombie today lol
Great video 👍
Thank you Paul
Awesome!
These look nice and almost look like real wood. Finding a 5.0 system with wooden cabinets that sounds good is not easy nowadays.
For me, the B&W CM series was the epitome of design, look, and performance with offerings in cherry and maple and looking as good as the $20,000 700 S3 which is ironically based on the design of the CM series with 4x the price.
Been running Sandy Gross Definitive Super Towers for almost 20 years they just won't stop kicking. Sandy helped startup Polk / fun fact. I've got my eyes on the R700's just to mix it up may start with the R400 Center to test the waters
My exact circumstances too. Owned a full compliment of Def Tech original BP towers from 1994 (BP 10s and BP2s) along with a Def Tech SuperCube. After 28 years, it was time for an upgrade. I went with the R700s; R400; R900s and the Polk HTS12. This setup absolutely kicks ass when driven by my legacy Adcom beastie amps.
Wooow!!! I guess I will have to sell my polk monitor series speaker set up to upgrade to this beauties 😁
They are available on the Polk website. 👍
The new color of your theater is great. Are they making a matching subwoofer?
Hi Michael, do you remember how well the center channel speaker performed off-axis? I occasionally have viewers sitting up to 60 degrees from the center of the screen and want to make sure they're able to hear dialogue clearly. Thanks!
It's interesting to see how much Polk has changed. I started with their RTi series in '09. Ironically based on your reviews I've switched them all out to the Klipsch Reference Premiere series, with the exception of my towers, so far. Their RTi12's are still phenomenal towers with a TON of woofers. I wish they still made these. Not crazy about their new look speakers. In your opinion, are the Klipsch RP8000F towers better-sounding than Polk's or any companies' towers? I thought that the more woofers a tower had the better the sound, but the 8000F's only have a few woofers
A tad late but more woofers doesn’t automatically equate to better sound. Perhaps more bass. There is no way to say which speaker you would prefer without listening yourself. It’s what you think that matters. Every room is different and you gotta listen to them to really know what’s right for you.
That opening was Legendary! 😉
Thank you Kyle. I wanted to try something a bit different for my channel. It was a lot of fun to make
Haha
Nothing reserved about it. 🤣
It's back!!!!
@@keepingupwiththejones2933 That intro is straight 🔥 Not doing it is like Ric Flair not doing a figure 4.
Great review as always Youthman! Would be interested to understand how these new Reserve speakers compare to their previous Polk Signature series.
Unfortunately I haven’t heard the Signature Series to be able to provide any insight on how they compare.
@@Youthman Had a feeling you were going to say that. Do you think if you asked Polk Audio to send you the Signature Series towers, either the S60, S55, or S50, they would? That would be an interesting reference point. In developing markets like the Philippines and India these are sold as the mainstream options to entry-level speakers like the Polk T50 towers. So it would be relatable to a large audience. The kind who have never heard the more expensive >1000$ speakers.
nice video man
Glad you enjoyed the video.
OMG they are beautiful 😍
I really like the walnut finish.
So do we!
I know audio's about the sound quality. But wow, these in walnut are so beautiful I'd almost buy them strictly for how they look. It's good they sound like they do because I'm pretty sure these are the speakers I'll be buying in a few months. It's a shame they didn't make a Walnut finish sub for the line though. A 12" sub with that finish would be stunning.
Aesthetics do play a big role in our preference of speakers. Especially if they’re going in the living room set up. For me, my JTR Speakers, don’t have to look pretty they actually look intimidating when I lift up the screen lol but they would never fly in my living room.
Right now I'm waiting for my Polk Audio HTS12 subwoofer to arrive.
Congrats on the upgrade. 😀
The old vintage Polk Audio logo had a heart as the dot for the "i" in Audio.
Someone else pointed that out. I legit thought they were just showing us some love 🤣🤣🤣
Wow! How phenomenal and strategic (just in time now that the Stimulus checks are being dispatched). Nice move Polk!!
Haha I’m sure they have been working on this launch for over a year.
👌👌👌
can I use my side surrounds which are mounted on side walls with 2 ft distance from ceiling (angled down) as dolby atmos speakers with “top middle” configuration in my denon receiver?
even though technically this is wrong set up, shall i get good effects?
thanks 😍
Q acoustic 500’s are what I have and they sound fantastic and I hear no problems.
I think polk has its work cut out for themselves in this market and price range....what polk does have is its history and nostalgia... maybe some retro throwbacks could reel me in..
Did they pull out of the car audio market? I love my older MM series speakers. Hope they don’t discontinue the S series home speakers either.
Great review as always!!! How are the polks compared to the Martin Logan’s you reviewed a while back! Thanks great work enjoy your videos!!
I prefer the Logan’s. Man that AMt tweeter and 3-way design sound beautiful. Not to mention they are gorgeous. I don’t think Polk is trying to compete with the 60XTi’s with the Reserve Series. This is more in line with the Klipsch Reference Premiere as Kliosch is Polk’s biggest competitor.
@@Youthman awesome! I just recently purchased some Martin Logan motion 40i and 30i how many watts do you recommend in a amplifier?
For dolby atmos, can i use klipsch cdt 5800 ii in ceiling speakers for dolby atmos along with polk reserve series?
Hershey's kisses tweeter, why did I watch the review of these same speakers 3 times and one more to go o.o
Now you just added two more reviews I need to watch
Man LOL he mentioned it too for the port 6:10
Haha nice
Great job Youthman 👍‼
Can you please tell me if they sound better then the Klipsch RF7III 's ?
Thanks always ,
Brian
No, these are not the same calibur as the RF7 III. More along the lines of the Reference Premiere.
How do these compare to the RTi line? I have RTi A9s for towers and the RTi A6 (I think it's the A6) for the center.
My atmos speaker is pollk and the sound is amazing.
Hey Youthman
How would you compare these to ML Motion 40i / 50xti / FX / 4i
How do these sound compared to the svs ultra ?
Did you get a new camera? The video quality is great, keep it up.
Yes over a year ago I sold my Nikon D7100 and fast glass (great for photography horrible for video) and purchased the Canon M6 MK II with Sigma 18-55mm.
@@Youthman Looks great. Love the videos.
Appreciate it Skittles
Hello from Nigeria. What a wonderful review.. Please I'd like to know how those polk towers compare to the klipsch R7 111.. Thanks.
My ears prefer the RF7 III. In my room, they provide a wider sound stage, better dynamics and naturally, more bottom end slam die to the larger 10” woofers. The massive 1.75” compression driver in the RF7 III has always been where the magic happens.
Also they have a much nicer finish since it’s real wood veneer versus vinyl wood finish.
The R700 is more similar in performance to the RP8000.
What in-ceiling Atmos speakers do you recommend to pair with this series?
The impedance of the polk audio reserve R700 is respective 8, 6, 4 and 3.6 ohms as mentioned in its specification. I want to connect it with Denon Avr x6700H which can handle 8 ohm speakers when THD is only 0.08% and 6 ohms speakers when THD is 0.7%. So the distortion is higher in 6 ohms speakers. There is no information regarding 4 or 3.6 ohms speakers. So will the avr can provide a stable output to this polk speakers and how much will be the THD value for this speakers. Please explain. How about connecting it with Marantz Mm 7055 amp ?
You're misunderstanding
those are actually really sleek and sexy looking ! well done POLK!
For sure!
The 1 thumbs down has to be a sound bar enthusiast.
🤣🤣🤣
They are not hating, just jealous.
They could have a miserable life. You never know what someone is going through. I just choose to have empathy for them
@@Youthman i can't understand the dislikes though, if you don't like the content then don't watch it, nobody's making you go on CZcams to watch polk reviews.
If you’re going to put yourself out on the Internet, you have to be ready to except criticism as well as people that will be haters no matter what content you produce. We live in a selfish society. If the content doesn’t meet someone’s needs they tend to be negative Instead of just moving on and finding content that does meet their desires
I'm surprised Polk didn't use real wood veneers on these speakers. The RTI A series used real wood and were priced about the same as the Reserve series. But, they still look pretty.
Difference is these utilize the higher end tweeter, midrange and port design from the Legend Series. Fancy veneer would have driven up the cost.
I was looking for a setup for the kids family room and after a bit of research and seeing so many awesome online reviews. Well I decided to give these a listen too. I went in with an assortment of movie clips and music that stick out to me. Bullets whizzing around me is the av reciever not the speaker. Things like "Optimus primes voice, my opinion of what the r400 did for A Star is born is completely different to what it did for you. It actually took me 5 seconds to realize the center channel was terrible, but I still kept going and not once did I enjoy the polks. I figured they must have there Yamaha RXA8A set wrong..... I go through everything and nothing looked off, we tried a few other center channels and mains, they were nowhere near as bad..... Its now clear that the polks were not my cup of tea "or anyone else in the room".
Now my movie room is at a different level, but our upstairs has a old pair of kef q900s and a 600c center and those old kefs can get some emotion outa me. My whole point is alot of these reviews could be influenced by polk.... make sure you listen to them, make sure you can return them if you don't like them. Btw the salesman offered me the r400 at 520.00 Canadian "which is well under 400.00 USD, so even giving them to me was not enough for me to purchase.
Klipsch Reference Premiere vs Polk Reserve for a home theatre? The SDA tech of the Polk Legend seems cool, but thinking that's more for a stereo setup than a surround one.
we love you youthman!
Love you too bro
5:08 Polk's old logo used to have a heart in it, that is why the stickers are hearts
The guys from Polk told me that after seeing the video. They got a laugh at it 🤣
Great Vid Youth man, Love the new Polks.I just purchased a whole set of Polk signatures,s30,s15 and svs pb1000 pro.I have also bought the s55 but I'm waiting to move into a bigger space to use them. My other pb1000 Pro should arrive tomorrow and was wondering how should I go about setting up 2 subs. This is my first time going Dual. I'm running everything through my x3600H. Should I do anything in particular before running audyssey?
Congratulations on the new purchases! Adding multiple Subwoofers can often help team peaks and fix nulls in your room but without tools like the UMIK-1 calibrated mic and REW, you have no idea what type of response you are getting in your room.
Pair that with the miniDSP 2x4HD and it’s a game changer - czcams.com/video/_ZxbM_s4vh0/video.html
@@Youthman thanks, I have actually watched some of that video. I'm going to have to wait a bit to purchase the Mic and dsp. That's another 300 bucks I would have to spend. After buying an entire set of speakers and 2 subs I need some time to recuperate $$$ lol.
Oh I totally get it. I did not get one myself for many years because of the same reason. Enjoy the process overtime. But when you have multiple Subwoofers, I believe the mini DSP 2 x 4 HD is a game changer
Youthman is it possible fix peaks and nulls in the parametric eq with just the UMIk-1 and no miniDSP 2x4 HD?
What receiver would you recommend to get the most out of these speakers? Also...
Those Bookshelf speakers are huge. Do you think the R900 can be used a viable rear speakers in a 5.1 surround setup?
Yes the R900 are designed to be used as side surrounds. Just flip the switch to wall mount.
For AVR, depends on budget. Denon if you prefer Audyssey, Yamaha are great but use YPAO. Marantz and Anthem would be awesome as well..
So someone mentioned the Lsmi line. How do they compare? You can still find the Lsmi speakers at around the same price point so what would you spend your money on? Besides more Klipsch.
Hard to say because they were in two completely different rooms connected to two completely different equipment with completely different acoustics.
Man i would love for you to test Elac vela in a 5.1 or a elac Ws1665 just to get an input on them
Good video.
Thank you kindly
Youthman,
How do these R700 towers compare to the SVS Ultra tower speakers?
I didn’t have them in at the same time for review so it’s difficult to say how they compare side by side. The Ultras had a really solid bottom end slam. Best to hear both Polk and SVS for yourself to know which sound your ears prefer
Would love to see an SVS Ultra Tower vs R700 comparison, for stereo, no sub.
That would be a very fair comparison. I too would be curious to see someone make that comparison.
Hi Youthman how the reserve series are compared to the Lsim series?
It’s been many years since I’ve heard Polks other than the Legend series so unfortunately I’m not sure how they compare.
Those R700’s look really nice. I’m guessing comparable to the Klipsch RP8000 in terms of performance?
Yes they are in the same tier
Polk R700 sounds better from Klipsch 8000f and rf7iii
What are those speaker stands they’re using?
Anyone got any insights for me on how the r700s would compare to the Klipsch 8000fs? Thx! The Klipschs are a 1/2 the price so curious 🤨
How do the legend L800s sound in comparison to the RF7III? Are they better?
I know you have reviewed both SVS ultra and the Polk reserve. I’m building my theater, which of those two would you recommend me. Both are about the same price range
Honestly hard to say as I recited them several years apart and it really depends on what your ears prefer. Telling you what my ears like won’t do you much benefit if your ears do not like how they sound
Curious if you still have and can try. Leave the front stage as is, move the bookshelfs to either side of the rear row, sit in the rear row and sample Atmos material. You yourself have said you sit closer to the screen than average people and you have 10' ceilings. I wonder if doing as I suggest will be more in line with so many running 5.1.2 with their seating against the back wall. While I agree with you having ceiling speakers is better and that is how I run mine, but like you said not everyone has a room they can setup. If it turns out to make a difference, you could recommend your apartment dwelling viewers to adjust room layout or angle of speakers for best available options. I personally never understood why they promote reflections which is all about angles yet don't offer something as simple as adjustable legs for their upfireing modules.
Wow that’s a fantastic idea of having adjustable feet because you’re right it literally is about angles. The angle of incidence equals the angle of reflection. There’s similar to playing pool
I have a new system arriving tomorrow. So this system has already been disassembled.
the polk reserve or the klipsche reference premier line for movies?
Wait, PolkAudio has fans?
I thought they only had armchair critics 😂😂
I've never heard one or considered buying one, (I'd rather build my own) but this review is awesome!! Some interesting tech on Polk loudspeakers, maybe worth deeper investigation.
NO SHOES in the theater YouthMan....Rule No1!!! LOL
Shoes are always welcome in our home. I almost always am wearing them
"The R200 bookshelfs are quite large" , My old Polk RT55's would beg to differ. :) JK , good review. I ran a RT55., CS400 , FX 500 system for years.
I used to sell that series at Circuot City back in the day. My first system was the RT800, CS350 and F/X500’s 😀
For most people, the R200 would certainly not be considered a small bookshelf speaker. Small books can fit comfortably on a small desk. Not so much with these

Can you please tell me what make and model of speaker stands you have the R200 bookshelves on? Thx K

@@Youthman Thank you!
What is the most powerful Polk Audio speaker can it reach 1000 Watts? Please let me know in your review if possible thanks
I wish you can compare this one with the polk Lsim 707
I did the Atmos modules because I rent and the walls and ceiling are plaster. I started with 2 and had them upfront. Was not impressed so I moved them to the back and still was not impressed. So not even a month after getting the first 2 I bought the other 2 and it is much much better with 4. I will go to ceiling or height down firing in the future when I can. But if all you can do is modules like me by all means do it with 4. It is much better than nothing.
With you hearing these and other systems with the LSiM series speakers how do they stand up to one another?
I actually have not heard the LSiM series. The last Polk Audio system I heard was the legend Series a few years ago
@@Youthman oh okay you just had a video tour of them about a month ago of the 6.2.4 Polk system that had the lsim floors
Oh wow, totally forgot that was the model Matt had 🤣 My memory is garbage LOL.
It’s difficult to compare two speakers in two totally different listening environments connected the two totally different gear. Pretty much impossible
@@Youthman touché 🤣
Hi Youthman. What did you have the speakers connected to? Your power amps or directly to a receiver?
Marantz AV7706 + Monolith 11X
I don’t own a receiver.
Great video....
Tell me...those base plates...ate they aluminium....or a plastic moulded one in aluminium finish..?
Any update on the matching subwoofer range..?
I thought I mentioned it in the video. Must have forgot. Yes, they are aluminum. I believe they used to be wood. They probably mention it on their website. I posted a link in the description.
@@Youthman yes...you'd mentioned in the video... As aluminum.. just wanted to recheck... Coz off late
.all the feets...base plates etc of polk used to be plastic/ABS.
Here is some info I received from Polk in a document they sent.
Aluminum Power Port bases on the R600 and R700.
Polk Audio engineering invested many hours into the designing the new bases for the Reserve floor standers. The goal was to maintain or improve the performance of the speakers while reducing the visual impact of the Power Port diffusor. The new bases sit closer to the floor by employing an aluminum plate instead of wood like past Polk Audio products. We’ve also incorporated the feet into the base which allows them to be made of aluminum for added performance characteristics and aesthetics. The new Power Port diffusor blends into the floor, making the floor part of the Power Port. The result is that Polk Audio gets to capitalize on the benefits of Power Port technology while improving the overall look of the speaker and improving performance in one fell swoop.
@@Youthman thank you....❤️❤️
Glad to help
Looks great! Does the whole range R500-R700 come with grilles?
Yes all speakers come with grill. Actually I’m not familiar with any speaker company that does not ship grills with all of their models
@@Youthman Thanks for your quick response and cool review! I do hope they become available in the UK soon. Totem Acoustic is one of those companies that don't provide grilles by default.
Interesting. Honestly I’m not familiar with totem acoustic. Not sure if we have them here in the states
@@Youthman I would hope so - They're Canadian. I do love their stuff. You must give it a try if possible :)
Does the matte white finish come with a white or black grille covers? I ask because their signature series in white comes with black grill covers which ruins the aesthetic if u ask me... this would be especially true if u wanted to “hide” the height module on your light colored ceiling.
The white grills are grey as well. ;)
It is great that Harman is putting effort in the Polk brand.
sound united ?
@@junior-OG yes that lol
Noob question: I am familiar with the banana plug for speaker connector. These speakers seem to have a different kind of binding post, can anyone tell me what that is, please? Thanks
These have a hole in the binding post to support banana plugs. The dual binding posts allow you the option to biamp or biwire
