There’s definitely an agenda behind her way of double speaking on this big platform. how can Black people see this as a bad response? Do yall realize we are not the only victims of colonialism? We need to stand in solidarity with our First Nation people, they are so similar to us. We have both been so vulnerable and are silenced. They have done nothing for us like we have done nothing for them. It would only make sense to start with them though LOGICALLY theres less of them and they were here first. The consensus that we built this country (duh) is so important and may make it seem like we deserve more now, but think about it from a critical angle. From the perspective of God itself. What is really fair? Whos land are we on(Native Americans)? is the first question. Who built the land (Black people)? Cmon are we really that self centered? Is that all we’ve learned from the oppressor? To only be for ourselves therefore oppressing anyone that was on the same level of exploited for forever? GROWTH starts with honesty. Lets be honest with ourselves here.

I'm a proud middle-aged first-generation Haitian American man from Brooklyn, NY. My powerful HAITIAN ancestors conquered Napoleon's French army and slaughtered ALL of our oppressors to relieve us from the scourge of slavery and oppression.
As a result of our cunning intelligence, bravery, and murderous tenacity under the leadership of the brilliant Generals Toussaint Louverture and Jean-Jacques Dessalines we eventually paid the French Government at least a billion dollars in REPARATIONS to maintain our freedom and independence in 1804.
Those REPARATIONS along with the SANCTIONS AND EMBARGOES are the reasons that my ancestral homeland is poor today!
I have a different perspective on this situation comparatively from my Black American brothers and sisters.
I strongly believe that the children of my ancestors should be paid back these REPARATIONS along with the people of Haiti 🇭🇹 and our country to rebuild our nation!

Treaties(historic contracts) between the United States and Native American tribes, honor those agreements which recognize independent tribal sovereignty. Reparations for African American slave descendants is a completely different animal. Based solely upon my conjective guess, African American reparations would be some form of budgetary/monetary investments, to counterbalance against the generational systematic oppression and inequality suffered by African Americans slave descendants.

She’s not even factually correct either. The English and other European countries might have tried to enslave natives first (starting with Africa), but THIS country had African slaves and were fully entrenched in the African slave trade at its inception. The descendants of those Africans since abolition have systematically been oppressed through all kinds of means, but mainly economically. Denied rights, denied jobs, denied life liberty and justice for decades and its still going on. So we’re not taking about the first European citizen explorers that came here we are talking about THIS country. Seems like she’s advocating for inaction rather than reparations for natives or blacks.

Native Americans are not from Africa and they are not genetically African. Of course, Native Americans did revive reparations as did Japanese Americans but Africans not yet.
We all do not come from Africa. Only Africans themselves came from Africa the rest of us came much later.
Just because we all came from amphibia dosen't mean were all fish and just because we all came primates does not mean that we are all monkeys either.

Has there ever been a reunion of her students that experienced the exercise? If so, how interesting it would be to see how that exercise affected their outlook on racism and the acceptance of different cultures.

I agree with everything she said. The only dispute is reparations for the Native Americans first. When in all actuality the Africans are the true Native Americans in the first place.

The reparations given to natives aren't the real natives. Most are $5 and Mexicans posing as natives.

Naw our black people need reparations first simply because we were slavery first as a human race.. Elliot don’t know the whole history of the way our black melanated people was enslaved..

A lot of African Americans are actually native Americans.
