I remember feeling frustrated with myself when I had difficulties getting things done. My grandmother told me " don't be silly you are growing a human being and that is a massive task". So remember that.

I had a bad feeling about my pregnancy since day 1. I started spotting at 6 weeks. Went to my OB in the morning. Sadly, he told me my baby had stopped growing... My body was already trying to reject it. That same day in the afternoon, I started having heavy cramps and the spotting turned into a big mess. Worst part is that I was at my nephew's 8th birthday. My husband and mother were there. I bared through the pain, and I didn't say anything to them to not spoil my nephew's special day... I remember almost passing out in the hall way due to the pain. Nature is cruel but your body knows what to do,better than you. If it stops growing, there is no need to hold on to it. Some stories have happy endings, and I find joy in reading them, others don't ❤

Almost no morning sickness, no cramping, which I'm hoping is a good sign. Called doctor today, went to the lab for blood tests. Go again this Wednesday to see if HCG levels are going up. Trying to stay positive. Wishing everyone out there all the best.

The scariest day of my life happened when I was 29 weeks pregnant. Woke up in the middle of the night to pee and found a moderate amount of blood after wiping. I was medivac'd to Oahu (we don't have a NICU on Maui) and put on strict bedrest. Apparently a part of my placenta has detached which caused the bleeding. Thank God everything turned out fine and I was able to deliver at full term to a healthy and beautiful baby girl=). I'm glad you went to your OBGYN to get checked. Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly. Aloha!

I told my sister in law and we left for ER right away. I had the same tests done and thankfully it turned out to be nothing scary. He will turn 7 in May. I experienced this in my 2nd trimester and was put on bed rest, I had to quit my job. The same happened to my Mom when she was carrying me. Everyone is different, so you did the right thing by seeing your doctor. NO Google!! LOL... Always consult your doctor when something abnormal happens, no matter how small. It will keep you calmer to know exactly what is going on. Take it easy, and invest in a body pillow if you don't already have one. The pillow will really come in handy once you get further along. It will you give you something to rest your belly on when you are on your side while relaxing or sleeping. Great video Jen, wishing you the best!

PSA: For those of you who don't know and are trying to get pregnant, miscarriages are incredibly common--somewhere like 1 in 3-4 pregnancies will end in miscarriage. Keep in mind this happens to perfectly healthy people who eventually do have children, so it is not YOU necessarily. It can happen for so many different reasons; chromosomes not lining up for whatever reason, and a lot of times it'll happen so early on that your doc can't give you the exact reason either. I had no idea of this statistic until I had a missed miscarriage (where the baby stops growing but nothing happens, as in you don't bleed out as most people believe miscarriages are) myself last year. We never saw a heartbeat, and it was still quite early on maybe 6-7 weeks, but gutwrenching all the same. One second you are pregnant, and the next you're not and they want you to go into surgery to clean out all the stuff next week. I am now 13 weeks pregnant and super excited for Jen (and me!) but am still being cautiously optimistic due to my earlier experience. It's an exciting time but thought this was important to share.

I opted not to have an emergency landing because I didn't want to disrupt all the other passengers but I took the first flight home and I went on bed rest but as you know, the hematomas went away and now Russell is 9 months old :) Still the scariest thing ever.

I was super paranoid about bleeding even though thankfully it never happened. I did have problems with cramping and had a hard time keeping hydrated as I live in a very dry climate. At 27 weeks I went to the ER with dehydration after travel and my friend had the same thing happen to her at 27 weeks also after travel so make sure you keep drinking your water 🍼🍼🍼 Congratulations on your baby! 🍼🍼🍼😊😊

Exhaustion is normal during this time. Your body is going to take EVERYTHING away from you and give it to your baby. FYI from conception to 12 weeks is one of the most crucial time of development (its the time your baby's central nervous system/brain is developing and hence the importance of prenatal vitamins with folic acid.

I am going through the same thing right now, I am 42 and have a 17 and 13 year old so this was very unplanned and truly miraculous! I have anxiety about this pregnancy bc of my age and honestly I never expected this although I have prayed for a baby for so long. So hopefully all stays well and I will be a mommy again.

Don't worry. You will be so happy when ur baby will start moving. I waited so much to feel my baby moving inside, and i felt it like a fish moving, making waves in water. That was such a happiness! 😭 And u will forget everything, all these inconveniences, when you'll hold ur baby for the first time.
I heard that some women even had their full menstrual periods during the whole their pregnancy.

i went through basically the same thing when i was pregnant last year. i had spotted on several occasions during my first trimester and they didn't stop until shortly into my second trimester. the first couple times it happened, i just freaked out so much cos the blood was bright red and i knew that it could potentially mean the worst. i also didn't get morning sickness, but i did get the fatigue! i was just SO tired all the time and i had to take naps just to get through the day, whereas i never took naps before the pregnancy. the fatigue also went away in the second trimester, but came back in the third trimester.
if you don't already have one, i highly recommend getting a body pillow to sleep with! i got a long, C-shaped one and it was sooo comfortable. using it to help support your growing tummy helps a lot. it's even comfortable without the belly :D

+ReiKoko also, i know just how fun those transvaginal ultrasounds can be! i had IVF done to get pregnant so i basically had to have a lot of them before and during the first several weeks of pregnancy. i also called my baby jelly bean during the pregnancy :D my mother-in-law still calls him JB for short haha.

The brain farts are absolutely normal...I found that it for worse the further along the pregnancy I got. Be kind to yourself about it! :)
The things about kids is that the worry just changes from one thing to another. Soon the baby will be here and there will be a ton of other things to be worried about. I love your approach of staying calm and logical. I'm sure that'll come in handy later on!

I'm 17 and this is my first pregnancy, at 6 weeks I started bleeding, phoned emergency midwife and they said to call again if it happens but nothing to worry about, just told me to keep taking pregnancy tests. Bleeding happened again but a lot darker (was light brown the first time and dark brown the second time), and a lot heavier. This was at 6 weeks 5 days, phoned up again and managed to persuade the midwife to let me have a scan, the earliest I they could do was 7 weeks 1 day. I asked for the non invasive scan as they can harm the baby, luckily they were able to see fine with the normal scan, we got to see the heartbeat and got one print out of the picture. Was wondering is anyone else has this much trouble trying to get a scan, or if it was just something to do with my age and not being prioritised.
