Same here. Too bad this song, and Clive Davis, cost him his chance to be nominated for the best new artist Grammy. I am glad that various people (including Gladys Knight) objected to that getting the Grammys to change their rules regarding the best new artist category. Gladys also objected about Whitney being disqualified because of her duet with Teddy prior to her debut album.
Me too guys.. and i am still in the middle of reading it...gets better and better with every page that goes forward...love Richard`s Music..he is a musical genius..
I grew up with emotionally stunted parents, and a father who had diabetes who kept his condition from us for a long time. This movie always pulls heart strings for me.
I always found this movie to be heartfelt and funny but a beautiful movie overall. I always loved Jackie Gleason. R.I.P. Jackie Gleason we will miss you forever.
I know Hank's has made some blockbuster movies in his time...but this is a personal favourite for me😌📽 And yes, unable to purchase this excellent soundtrack! Even tried to buy on iTunes but not there, even if I search for songs on their own!? At least I can listen to them on CZcams👍
after this movie came out, the OST came out and was a bomb. I found it a couple of years in the bargain bin at Tower Records, and once or twice in other bargain basement bins. Unfortunately I wore my CDs out
My DVD should come tomorrow...must simply be a part of my movie collection...what a great movie that is combined of course with a great soundtrack....love movies&music from the 80s....
The only affordable way to get hold of these songs is through CZcams; the second most affordable way to get hold of this soundtrack is to buy a Vinyl LP from Discogs. Apparently, the CD version of the album was never given a reissue and so the cheapest you'll find a copy is $40.
He was supposed to be just the demo singer. Arista and Clive wanted to use a different singer. The director of the movie, the late Garry Marshall, didn't like the singing voice of the singer Clive picked. He liked the singing voice of the demo singer, Richard Marx.
I think I read that this song was what prevented Marx from getting a Best New Artist Grammy since it appeared on this soundtrack before his first album came out.
My dad and I love this movie it has an awesome soundtrac😊
I had no idea of this song's existence up until about three minutes ago when I read about it in his new memoir. Needs to be more well known!

Make sure you go give this movie a 9 or 10 on IMDB. It's rated criminally low on there for some odd reason.

This was before his first album came out.
I'm pretty sure this song was recorded during the sessions of his first album, but just omitted it.
Would love to find this on a cd????
