This series will be the bench mark for amp tests around the world. Much thought and planning went in to carefully testing each amps ability to capture specific guitar tones. Well done, ZEN Amps.
What a cool channel! You got me excited about the 1971 small box I just picked up in Ireland, can’t wait to get it back home. Will subscribe to you guys. i’m a guitar player with Rod Stewart and hopefully we will be down there in March 2023!
I come here to watch others play instruments and gear I can only dream about. How I wish I could play a spot on a vid with these great players. Best rock and roll demonstration of gear, variations, tones and combinations in the galaxy!
Beautiful amp and amazing tone. Here in the states most of us reserve “JMP” for any 2203/2204 (2-input Master Volume) issued prior to the JCM800 name being added on the front of the amp. This would be a 1987. A 50-watt plexi-style metal panel. They do say JMP on them but I don’t usually see them called that. The tones in this video are so on point it’s insane. Kudos to you guys. Shout out to Leon!
I just finished playing my stock 71 1987/July 68 t1221 Greenback(labeled 20 but actually 25 watt)halfstack and the first video I see when I go on YT is yours. I can’t play as great as you guys but can attest that these are KILLER sounding amps and speakers. Excellent video. Good to see some fellow Aussie gearheads.
Wow... probably the best amp demo I've ever watched on CZcams. The killer PAF Crunch tone with the ES-345 was girthly and warm. But the Dynamic LP section had the kind of tones you'd expect to find on a Free record. Brilliant stuff. I'll definitely be watching more
@@zenamplification Big Kossoff fan here too, and I could hear his influence. Brilliant playing man. Its the sound in my head that doesnt necessarily make it to my fingers.. haha
Easily the best amp demos on CZcams. If they really demo all these amps this is going to be like the Guinness Book of Records for Guitar Tone. Ie the place everyone goes to settle debates on what guitar/amp/cabinet sounds best.
We're doing our best and having fun - glad you're digging it too. Yes the plan is to work through them all, plus some other stuff with cabs, attenuators etc.
The 1987X is voiced a bit more aggressively than this old girl and feels a little tighter. Nice amps, and a little easier to move around than a 100-watter.
Not quite sure on the question, but if you're asking about modern speakers doing the old pulsonic thing you can look into the Celestion EVH or Scumback M75.

Thanks for tuning in!
For sure, these guys are the best.
That hail Mal part had the POWER. Epic video throughout the entire way.
RIP, and hail Malcolm! The riffs live on, even if Angus gets most of the credit.
Great demo!! I have a dead stock one of these and they are glorious and now over $3K US - WHOA~!) Amazing Playing!
Great amps, and yep prices are getting silly. In ten years though we'll be laughing at how cheap they used to be back in 2022!
Thanks alot for the greats playings and sounds .hi from Morocco

Honoured to have you aboard Emerson, cheers!
What an amp!
A real treat to hear all these rare speakers.........excellent demo guys
Thanks for stopping by 🤘
Those beautiful mid-focused Marshall tones..
All these amps, and the small 50 year old one is the one to beat!
@@zenamplification You know there's some awesome amps, when a 50 watt like this is called "small".
Leon!🤘This channel is gonna be epic, loving the attention to detail, this is how amps should be demoed. Absolutely amazing tones and playing 🔥

High praise, much appreciated!

Cheers Angus. Yes we've always called them JMP50's or 100's, or JMP2203 etc. We say crazy stuff here in the upside down.
I reckon you'd have a pretty, pretty, prettaaaay good time there Angus!
I was gonna say due to confusion I would rather call it 1987x
@@LeonTodd I reckon I would!

Thanks for the kind words! Massive Kossoff fan, and that particular Les Paul really nails those tones through an old Marshall.

Sounds epic!
Certainly one of our absolute favourites!
I always prefered the tone of the 50 watters more than the 100
Certainly something special about these early 50's, pure bliss to play through!
Awesome video Leon. A lot of work, but great hearing all the speaker changes and sound through them of that amazing classic amp.
Awesome Leon! Glad i found this, I guess the algorithm is working lol. Great tones man and awesome playing as always my friend!
that was very good! thanks!

Thank you
I have a 67 Plexi Small Box with KT66's put a Jose mod in it years ago, going to put back to original W/Bright Cap! Great amps!
Bet that beauty sings and stings 🤘🏼
@@zenamplification almost as much as my 1964 JTM 45.
Epic!!!
I'm here for my boy LT!
He may have entered the amp vault a boy, but he was all man on departure. Don't ask us how we know...
Me too. He's a drawcard that's for sure. ✌️🇦🇺
Maximum shuck
Bought one with the 2 x cab in Southampton 1986 £125, sold it like you did,, doh!
Never look back Joel, it hurts too much. ✌️🇦🇺
Hello, congratulations for the channel, I found it today and I already subscribed. Do you have a review forecast for the JTM45 with KT66 valves?
Welcome! No plans for this, but we'll look into it.
Hey guys. What's the amp and cab used in the first 5 seconds of the intro where your logo is displayed? That sounds huge
Good question... I think it's the Diezel VH4.
In your opinion, how does this amp stack up against the Marshall Plexi 1987x?
The 1987X is voiced a bit more aggressively than this old girl and feels a little tighter. Nice amps, and a little easier to move around than a 100-watter.
Please what new speaker do will with this marshall jmp 50w of 1971
